That is exactly what the production company (IMG Productions) that is producing MLS Season Pass for AppleTV wants to do.

    https://www.svgeurope.org/blog/headl...of-production/

Looking further ahead, Francis says opportunities for IMG may come from content organisations and governing bodies that want to adopt a similar model to the MLS by centralising production and distribution of their content.“There are many leagues around the world who are looking at that model and thinking that if they invest in the creation of the content, they can then sell it at once globally, which is the MLS/Apple deal,” says Francis.
“So I think that over the next 10 years, we’ll see a lot more organisations reaching out to companies like IMG to ask, ‘if we were to create all of our own content and then sell it, could you help us do that?’ Because that’s what we’ve done with PLP, effectively. I think you’ll see a lot of that and that could be in any region around the world – and we are talking in every region around the world to to leagues and federations right now.

Part of the uniqueness of Apple doing MLS is domestically they could do almost anything and hire almost anybody - we have little to no MLS broadcast tradition.

Can you imagine in the UK or Italy or France or Mexico doing a broadcast without known and actually good (and thus expensive) people on the daily pundit show, let alone on the games themselves?

That and IMG is using way more cameras and its best people on the Messi games - they won't invest in CLT vs Houston using the same resources.

They have. Interesting to see MacNaughton has become Walker Zimmerman's CB partner.

I'm shocked how into this tournament I am. I truly did not care at all when it started. It has sort of a March Madness feel to it, the fact that it has been bonkers doesn't hurt but I have to admit as an original hater it just works, it's a fun format

It will probably should be bi yearly, but honestly, would any of us be watching a New York vs. Philly game in August if it was just league match?

I was going to say the same thing. Shame he never really had the chance to play next to Hedges or the benefit of good DM cover in front of him. It has a harsh lens to evaluate anybody.

Mabika might end up being the better player long term but he’s still dead to me for a bit (at least until I can cleanse that sequence from my mind)

If Hany Mukhtar stays in MLS for another 5ish years, the guy might go down as the best to ever do it in this league.

Nashville really pinned back now. They gotta get to the half tied. Shaff might just be the key to hitting America on the counter. Sam Surridge is also available tonight.

The Apple TV commentators dunking on us for giving up MacNaughton and Shaff for CJ Sapong and GAM.

Yeh, their passing is so much better then Nashville's but Nashville is all about the absorption of pressure, hold and score through Muktar or a set piece.

That header by Zimmerman was outstanding - overpowering.

Zimmerman and MacNaughton are putting on a clinic as a CB pairing. Gary Smith might just be that guy who makes CBs like Lukas and Dave Romney go from average to great.

The lesser-supported Mexican teams were sort of a drag, crowd-wise, as they just got zero support for a new, mid-season tournament with no home games.

But the bigger clubs are filling half or more of each stadium, so it really feels like a derby. It's riveting stuff. It's really rare to get intense away fan sections, so it totally changes the crowd dynamic.

Insanity. Forest's guy who couldn't quite make it, Sam Surridge, crushes a Mukhtar cross.

Toluca goes out against Minny despite outshooting them 29-7. Did not expect that.

Ahahaha or do they? That needs to be retaken. It just might result in a riot. But that's clear and obvious

Remind me of that Tfc game with a penalty given after the final whistle only with a far greater chance of some shit going down if they call it. But they have to call it.

Cup football finally comes to the USA.

Calling it now - this trophy is not easy to win & the team that does is going to cherish it.

    EDIT - LOL

Going to be a security review after that game- Nashville was not ready for that many away fans.

Glad Philly won. They are probably the favorites in terms of an MLS winner. A big time Mexican team is gone tonight with Tigres and Monterrey facing off.

Exciting stuff, but IMO leagues cup continues to have some highly suspect moments. No reason for that to have taken > 5 minutes.
