Is there a winger on the allocation list that would be a good fit?
Oh, I thought you were joking. None of those teams can even spend whatever they want, except City if they don’t actually receive a penalty for their laundering the public image of a gulf state through football. They have more money to spend on lawyers than FIFA does, and it’s not like MLSE can include “Briefcase of Cash for FIFA Execs” or “Picasso for Infantino” as line items in their financials.
PSG has to comply with an incredibly strict French version of FFP that is far more rigorous and has greater consequences should they run afoul of it.
China has a 100% tax on foreign footballers that is stopping most billionaires/companies from laundering their money via this method.
The other teams you listed can’t really spend whatever they want either (except maybe Madrid when Franco was still in power).
TFC can spend as much as they want on DPs but you simply can’t lure a world class player in their prime to MLS or it would have already happened.
Jozys stsyin
Surprised about Jozy.
KJ on TSN at halftime: agreement in place for a 3 year extension for Jozy, which would keep him here until the end of the 2022 season.
great news on Jozy. that is awesome. this is starting to shape up!
Jozy staying through 2022. This is good
Pozuelo is here for nycfc game at bmo
So KJ says on tv unofficially Josy signing till 2022 ....They should pay him in games completed , bargain
ALL HELL'S BROKEN LOOSEhttp://gfycat.com/SharpKindArrowana
Can't wait for Thursday right at the rivoli
Anyone got details? They surely haven't tied up a DP slot until 2022, right?
Literally zero chance Jozy is not a DP.
Huge gamble based on the injury history.
Wow he better be a TAM signing. He and his legs are not worth DP money at 29 years old!
Jozy will prove those of you wrong who think he's going to be perma injured.
I love Jozy and hope he does, but his regular season goal return is 13, 10, 15 and 7 and he's now at an age when you'd expect that production to go down. Again I love him but being cold and judging purely on what he's done so far he is unlikely to show DP worthy output until 2022
20 or so pages ago - MLSE cost cutting, Jozy should have been re-signed already, Manning & Curtis don't want DPs, half empty stadiums and no hope of playoffs.
Re-sign Jozy: he better be TAM, pay him per match, too old at 29 to be DP, booooo!!!!
Classic.
With all due respect, if he stops getting injured this late in his career I'd call it a run of good health. He's wearing the "often injured" tag into retirement. Track record is far too long to be anything else.
And i like the guy. Will never forget some of the big games he played for us. But this is a signing that gives me indigestion.
It's a risky move signing Jozy to a 3 year extension as a DP, but a risk I can definitely live with. He's the most clutch performer we've ever had and if he can stay relatively healthy, I think he's definitely got another 3 years of quality football left in him.
It’s fantastic that we resigned Jozy. Building on What we have, ends potential instability and possibly a nice up front group with Poz, Oslo and DeLeon. ( not a “3”, more of a “3-1” as in a “4-2-3-1” which is the right formation for these players anyway. Poz appears to be a good replacement for the guile of VV and Cheyrou. We don’t have a replacemt for and won’t be replacing Seba but Hamilton and Akinola showed desire tonight, and Hamilton scores. He always scores. I can live with that given all that has happened.

Signing Jozy turns the offseason from a disaster to only a shit show.
