If you want some insight into why kits look like this, this twitter thread put together might provide some insight - its an opinion of course but here you go

I'll buy it on discount. I mean since thats the direction the team is going in, i might as well jump on that bandwagon
I grabbed my kit last night at the reveal event.
The event itself was pretty cool at the CN Tower, good turn out and a nice venue. Danny Dichio signed my scarf! (First auto - nice).
The reveal was a fail. They had no audio, and the room just died.
I got my kit AS SOON as they were onsale, at the event. My notes:
1. I like the mesh a lot. The fabric of this kit is excellent and something our old kits weren't. These breathe like mad.
2. The logos are high quality, a plastic material that has ridging that looks like stitches. Better than the logos on the outgoing kit.
3. CN Tower / Maple leaf is a nice touch
These kits look and feel A LOT better in person than the media photos show. My pics are bad, because I was on the train home and excited af.
This was a very interesting read. Thanks, Og!
I honestly never thought the manufacturer's would have such an influence, but once you think about it, it does make sense. I do think that in recent years, our kits have not been as interesting or exciting (the onyx was my favourite) and I wonder if some of the themes raised in that twitter thread provide some explanation.
I hope to catch one during the giveaways throughout the season
This discussion is starting to remind me of this 'controversy':
I actually like the new kit, FWIW.
I'm not a fan of the new kit but maybe it will grow on me over the season. I do like the leaf and CN Tower combo and hope that carries over to this years SSH scarves with the silver star. Fingers crossed they don't somehow include a button into the scarves………..

Nicest shirt we’ve ever had, IMHO.
MLS is getting rid of long-sleeve jerseys but nobody will say why

San Jose Home Jersey
Orlando City SC Home Jersey
Atlanta United Home Jersey
LA Galaxy Away Jersey
After last night's poor performance, this is a welcome distraction. This year's theme continues and another team's secondary kit will be all white. There will be no colour clashes at all this year.
Colorado Rapids Away Jersey
DC United Away
Houston Dynamo Home Kit
LAFC Away Kit
Yeah, XL long sleeve, got the same email a couple days ago.

Love the LA (both) and Seattle kits
Here's the all the new kits for this season:

The plain white ones are bad (Minn Dallas Colorado and DC). The solid colour ones are underwhelming (Colorado Orlando Houston and TFC). The LAG is too close to the Impact (and, ugh, I think I like the Impact one the best of all the new ones) but I generally like the ones I've not called out to be honest.
Seattle is a bit weird though. When did black and pink become their brand?
If anyones interested, I'm selling last year's jerseys.
Men's Large Red Altidore Short Sleeve (new with no tags) (50$)
Men's Small White Vasquez Short Sleeve (new with no tags) (30$)
Also selling a signed DeRo jersey. (60$)
PM if interested.
These jerseys are so dull that I am almost nostalgic for those crazy mid 90's era premiership jerseys
I don't mind the LAFC kit. Is Colorado's an off-white? Looks almost a cream colour.
