That's a strange sight to behold.
That's a strange sight to behold.
I always knew this day would come, even when they were building BMO I knew one day the Argos would find a way in and they have, it was just to good to be true to have an actual stadium for soccer all to ourselves. Well at least Canada still has one true soccer stadium and that is just down the 401 in Montreal the only true soccer stadium now in Canada and probably the best place to watch a soccer match in Canada, a nice compact stadium with stands on all four sides, no stupid open end to accommodate pointy ball. The old CNE stadium was called the mistake by the lake, well in 2016 the mistake by the lake two is officially born today , what a fucken joke!

Hmm...can't spot any soccer lines.
That line on the west doesn't look far enough west to be the soccer sideline. Likely the "don't cross this line if you are a player or coach" line. And that looks like tarps for where the benches are.

I think I can see evidence of the 25 yard box at the North end, the line is visible between the '10 and '20 lines and almost acts as an underline to those figures. To my eye, evidence can also be seen of the six yard box lines at the same end, just below the wear marks of the goalmouth can be seen. Also the centre circle is clearly visible at it's south side, at the '40 line. Doesn't bode well to be honest...

I wouldn't worry about any of the lines, except for that thick outside bounds side of the play field ones.
One thing from what i have seen their dressing room is massive and looks magnificent.
Went for a walk around the stadium at 5:30 or so to see what the damage looks like. I threw up in my mouth a little after I rounded towards the north end. Earlier in the thread there is a picture of their locker room entrance and a banner across the gate there. I thought ok, that's what was expected. Then I get north and see all the tarps lining the top of the west (you know where are Wall of Honour is supposed to be.....) and along the bottom part of the west 2nd deck. Sorry for the crappy pictures I had to feed my phone through the gate bars. It seemed empty as all hell when I first got there and looked through the gap in the south west corner. Maybe there was a break, but by the time I got a look through the north side it seemed to really fill in. Maybe 20k there but take that with a pound of salt as I suck at estimating crowds.

Announced crowd was 16,000 but papered to hell...free tickets to schools and 10 free tickets per ssh.
CFL pre-season is what it is , not unlike the NFL is like, go to MetLife for a Giants game on a Friday night in August and see how empty it actually is.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
For what it's worth, Argo's 2015 Skydome average attendance was 12.4K.
Hi guys, I was wondering about that wall of fame. Any update?
Here we can vote for our stadium:

Looks like it's starting. If anyone could grab a few pics that would be great
I think we need the wall of honour back (I think June has passed). Also, it would be nice to see some recognition of the voyager cup wins.
No the stand will only go up the roof. That's why the roof is so damn high.
The temp stands are farther back than I realized. Makes sense with the pretty wide concourse in that area. However I feel the stands will be quite disconnected from the rest, and the view won't be great, given the distance & angle to the field.
Ya it looks weird, those temp seats will not be covered by roof at all and the temp seats appear so far back with the huge concourse gap. I would think bad views, even the roof might block some there view. I thot the temp seats were going to connect right up to where the south stand back row currently ends.
There was an article by Arash Midani recently saying how there are whole sections available for the Grey Cup. Good thing they are using these extra seats for a winter classic, otherwise these extra seats are a complete waste for the CFL anyways. That Grey Cup game will take papering to a whole new level.

Here is the article: http://3downnation.com/2016/10/04/ma...ing-field-off/
It will be interesting to see if the south end temp stands will sell out during our playoff run. However I feel like we should talk about this article on the "Argos to BMO" thread.
Man that looks weird.
Sure it looks weird a stadium trying to be alll things to every sport is going to look weird, and these temporary stands make an already weird looking stadium even uglier, this BMO Field is giving the old Exhibition Stadium a run for its money in terms of ugliness, with all the money that will be spent adding on these temporary stands from time to time they should have just built a proper 40 000 seat stadium and called it a day instead of always having to put in these stupid temporary stands, only in Canada we like love to build stadiums with room for temporary stands and in the end we get half ass stadiums like BMO and Tim Hortons Field to name a couple.
