Default Best way to learn about TFC and the MLS in general?

Hey guys, I've been supporting TFC for a while now (I've already been to 11 games ). I'm just wondering (apart from watching games, obviously) whats the best way to learn about the league? Any good posts, videos etc.? I feel like I already know a lot, however, there is no such thing as having too much knowledge

also, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

You could look at some of the league run media over at mlssoccer.com (take that info with a grain of salt though). Also there are good podcasts out there, I highly recommend Soccer Morning plus some of the Canadian specific ones, TSNFC and Sportsnet's Soccer Central Podcast.

Mainly, I get my info from twitter. Find someone you like and check out who they follow and start from there.

    Great question.

Read Ives and Goff every day. Follow Twellman. John Molinaro is the best local guy on the beat, Kurt Larson has the most daily coverage and gets the odd scoop. Neil Davidson gets scoops. Ignore the rest.

The discussion here can be pretty good.

It's a weird league. There are no shortcuts, it takes years.

Watch a lot of games. Watch a lot of LA and Seattle especially.

Thank you as well, I'll definitely look into those people. I googled Ives and Joff, but it doesn't come up with any results. Can you link me?

Keep it coming guys, I appreciate it.

Soccer by Ives is at sbisoccer.com

    Stephen Goff is at washingtonpost.com

There are a lot of blogs with good info. Check out the blog thread in the TFC/MLS News section.

Special mention to a TFC blog on the SB Nation site - wakingthered.com, I find that a very useful site. There are several other SB Nation blogs for other MLS teams too.

If you wanna skip the details and simply meta-understand MLS + TFC, I'd go for Orwell's Animal Farm + Dante's Inferno, respectively.

Skysports is kicking up its online MLS coverage, and the guardian does a pretty good job covering MLS also with some good analysis

Another good way that involves input from yourself is to start an MLS fantasy team.

It gets the competitive juices flowing and to do it well you really have to start investing in MLS in general with your time.

Yes, he's still around and most people on bigsoccer who support Columbus equally condemn his rants. He'll be spewing bile all this week.

Hello guys. I'm new here, I'm a Juventus fan living in Belgium and I've begun to follow Toronto recently because of Giovinco. Moreover, this is a good occasion for me to improve my english (I'm reading you for several weeks now ).

I've read about radio podcasts (thanks for the information, I've already listened some) but I was wondering if is there any big TV talk show about MLS in United States/Canada ?

    Welcome.

Maybe some others can mention some bigger tv shows that discuss MLS, but my experience is that major networks that cover football news here in North America are usually discussing Europe and mainly England. If I were in your shoes I would try to catch as many MLS games as possible and pick up bits of information that way. And because of the Giovinco connection, hopefully you'll focus your attention on Toronto games.

MLS is a very internet focused, probably because they have to.

There isn't alot of traditional TV shows about MLS, but there is alot of internet video.

MLS live for $80 a year is worth every penny
