We have a lot of depth in DM, but not enough quality in AM position. If Winter has somebody in mind to swap JDG for, I would not mind.

He's listed on TFC's site as being 6 feet, 210 pounds. Is that 210 pounds right? If so, I thought Caicedo looked solid, but this guy beats him hands down!

more like a big question mark than lack of quality. Avila is somewhat proven, Silva is a big question mark and Cordon could have a break out year

I love all the 'youngers' + Johnson in there, but it would be better IMO to have a experienced and willing AM, good for 60' a game, to help develop our future AMs.

when i read that, i started to question if he is a lb, being 210 at 6 foot, must definitely be a CB

Aceval and frings line up to take a free kick side by side and plata can make some to it seems we have some weapons this season. 1 free kick scored last season and it was plata's bender! if they can score 5-7 free kicks and add 5-7 corner kick goals... at the same time eliminate some corners against we should be in the playoffs. things like this make a difference. If these guys can come together and prove to be dangerous teams will back off and in turn give more room for guys like plata lambe johnson and koef. March 7th is going to be some game. See up all there ALL IN RED!

Well then, it looks like our important roster moves are already done and training camp has yet to start. That's a first.

I dont see us need anymore signings, now we have to play with what we have, and during the summer do we have a lot of space to make signings if need be, I just think we might sign one more player but then we need to keep a few spots open just in case

With this signing there are five spots still open, six if they use an injury exemption on Lyndsey.

Yeah. We all know how bad we've been defensively on set pieces. But we don't talk as much about how bad we've been offensively. I can only think of a handful of goals we've scored off set pieces. Did we even score once on a corner last year? If these guys can cut a few goals conceded off set pieces and add the odd one of our own, we can change the result of a lot of those draws we had last year to wins.

I'm somewhat confused how we were told first by Lindsay that he'd be ready for the start of this season, then it was said he needs surgery and will be out for the year, then he shows up on the list of players in camp???

I'd be nice to see him get a run out, I'd be fearful for his career (moreso than I am already) if he spent another year on the sidelines.

I thought one of the points to bringing in all these good defender was to move Torsten to his natural position (DM), which would allow JDG to play his natural position (linking the DM to the AM). A role which he looked very good at last year. JDG is going to be the hinge our team swings on this year. Whether or not there's another DP coming in, we need a stud playing that position to be able to lead transitions from defending to attacking, and to be able to distribute the ball to the talent that we have downfield (for once). Though like Prizby said, if over the summer (after the CL) a club wants him and Winter has another player in mind to come over, I'd be open to it. I trust Winter and Mariners judgements greatly at this point.

I'm hoping we can keep JDG at $200k after this season. Of course I'm basing this entirely on this improved form last season.

^^I thought JDG was still under contract as a DP this year.

EDIT - that ^^ was to Waggy and his point about another DP coming in.

Sorry, I meant that in the event that JDG is leaving and we have another DP in mind to come in and replace him.

He definitely looks solid in the interview that went up. Funny seeing Cordon coming out at the start, he looks tiny behind Aceval.

Exactly what I said... hes being brought in to play CB alongside with Caicedo... Cann will be relegated to the bench.

If Morgan becomes a question mark, only then I can see Aceval being moved to the outside and bringing Cann back in the middle

Yah, the most important mistranslation for me was the injury he's coming back from .. not just a "pause" from the season down there.
