Morrell or Badji
The analysts don't know what they're talking about.
Tsubasa. Yup, a winger. Interesting that was on the draft board on the website before he was announced at the draft...
I'm glad they got him.
wut....
TFC's first asian player?
we just drafted something called a Tsubasah Endoh. If anyone has any information on this, it would be deeply appreciated.
And with that and a bit of discussion, I don't care anymore.
He's a Supa-Stah.....

Looks like a TFCII guy most likely. I believe he's a winger, which is good for our depth at that position.
He doesn't have an MLS contract signed. So they sign him to a USL deal and park him on TFCII.
Some people were quite high on him before the draft due to his creativity but picking him at 9 is probably a bit of reach.
Highly regarded guy, who can play either at the 10 spot or out wide. Discussion among MLS coaches has been mixed on where he would fit in best. By the way, he was voted the MVP of the combine.

I'm just concerned we're making the same mistake we made with Bekker - picking the best guy from the combine. That doesn't always translate to pro success.
We'll see. I'm hopeful.
Interesting we didn't opt for a GA. I guess they didn't want a guaranteed contract taking up a roster slot. Bet Endoh gets signed to a TFCII deal.
From the sounds of things, they went with the best athlete with the right attitude who was left.
Twellman had an interesting point - guy can't complete a pass longer then 20 yards at college level. That ain't gonna work in MLS.
He's a USL project and if he gets any TFC time this season, I'm surprised. Nice to have a true wide attacking midfielder but one who can't cross ain't really a winger.
To me, this means that we didn't end up with Boakai after all since he and Tsubasa can play pretty much the same position. I see him down at TFCII this year with the occasional call-up during the international callup phase of the season. Ives has him going to the Whitecaps in the Second round in his Mock Draft. Looks like Endoh is this year's Simonin.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

Hmmm....no immediate video from TFC done by Bez last night about this guy. Probably our 3rd choice then.
meh. my day's done. back to bed it is for me.
Different situation though. Bekker would have been a pretty good pick at 9th overall. I also have to think that they've watched more of him than just the combine, unlike when they drafted Bekker, where they based their selections purely on the combine. This is a "best available" pick in a position where they need depth, whereas Bekker was a "we want this player, even though there are much better ones available" pick.
