Are we going to close some deals or what?

SOunds like a south american winger will be announced tomorrow.
https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/toronto-f...pens-1.4498832"There may be some things that will happen (Tuesday) and then also some things that will happen during the entire month that the window is open," Curtis said Monday.
Toronto is about to add a young South American winger, using targeted allocation money. Curtis may also bring in another TAM signing although the timing of that one is more flexible.
"We have a number of different options," he said. "We're going to be a little bit more patient with that particular signing ... That will not happen (Tuesday) or this week. But it may happen later in the next two to four weeks
From that article
I suspect journos know who this is but the name has been embargoed until tomorrow. The South American player will be able to play on both sides of the field.
There is zero chatter about the usual suspects (Jony, Janson) in Argentina today. Might be someone we are not expecting/heard of.
he's now doubling his usual "2 week" wiggle room. But it may happen later in the next two to four weeks.
I'm judging him on this window. He'd better deliver or we can write off this season.

The whole "we got time" and "we want to be patient" crap can only go on so long then the window will be over and the season will then be over. Been hearing it from the end of last season and when Curtis came on board and now months later we still hear it. Look at where we are now. I don't mean that we should revert back to panic moves of the past by no means but man, TFC FO, get some shit done....or hire someone else that can. There is a time to be patient but then there is a time to put up or shut up. Our areas where we are missing pieces is no secret to anyone.
Yamil Asad officially free to sign where he pleases. #DCU
are interested and have been for some time, as are other #MLS clubs (#ATLUTD is not among these, for now.) Window opens tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not sure about Curtis, but I definitely would not want Vanney to have a ton of control on his own! We've seen too many odd decisions and mediocre stretches, both on & off the field. A couple of times Vanney & the team seem to have responded well to ultimatums, but Vanney needs someone above him to provide those ultimatums.
Sometimes Vanney seems too cerebral, or stuck in an ivory tower. Maybe with a bit more experience he would in fact do better in a GM role, where he can be more academic and take some time to make well-thought-out decisions. Away from the day-to-day hurly burly, needing to think on your feet, and needing to motivate and/or discipline your squad?
If the winger can play both sides it sounds like janson.
I wonder where they might add another tam player. Rb or lb?
Asad would be great but suspect it's Janson
My guess is we sign Jhon Murillo! He's a very talented, pacy and direct winger who can play on either side. He just finished playing Copa America and doesn't want to go back to Tondela (Portuguese 1st division). See some highlights below:

Since it appears there are similar wingers on the market (and at similar prices) this will provide a good opportunity to assess management.
After all, if we’re going to win this won’t just be about ticking a box, it’s about signing the best player for the money.
Let’s see who plays better through the end of the season (of the signings that are made).
Its Janson. Hes in Toronto according to an Argie Journo
Edit: thinks that what he meant. Could be dodgy translation

I wonder if paperwork will make him available for mtl match
If it's Janson then why is Curtis here? That's another Manning/Bez signing.
President/GM setups are a relatively modern idea, and they mostly don’t make sense to me. The model is being applied thoughtlessly.
It seems when it works best, there isn’t much confusion about who is really in charge - it's the President. Think Masai or Lagerwey. Regardless of title, 95% of the fans don’t even know who the number two guy is, and they all know that the President is the ultimate talent evaluator who makes all the calls that matter. Like TAM signings.
I think the current TFC setup, and making Manning responsible for BMO and the Argos (these are both important businesses) is a recipe for disaster.
We already saw that Manning was totally wrong footed on Seba, and we still don’t know the story behind what happened with Altidore.
Manning needs to come back in (or step all the way out, but I don’t want that, I don’t believe Ali is the answer).

"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
Not sure, I am too crazy about this... Janson, although good lacks real pace. We see the difference in this team with Shaffleburg or even remember Edwards running the wing causing havoc and then crossing into the box. This signing is not speed, we are still too slow.
Unless we get rid of Boyd and Janson is here to be more of a Winger/Striker, then I am all for it.
