Agreed. Still an Argos fan, despite what their cleats do to the field. It was a roller-coaster game for me but Lansdowne was really fun with all the teams headquartered in different bars around the stadium. I just hope that they haven't used up Toronto's quota of Championship teams for the year...

While I agree with post, this is wrong thread to write about Gray Cup and argos.

Great love does not exist without joy and without great suffering ,that's why One club is worth only as much as its fans !

Well, technically this thread is the discussion of the conditions of the field, so it's actually completely relevant to the Argos, as they play on the same field.

Seems like the pitch held up really well during the game. Did anyone notice anything egregious?

The only issue I saw was a large tear in the north east corner from a hard tackle

I wonder if it will be the same type of grandstand or a more permanent structure?

Also - in today's presser he expects ST sales to be at 25,000 for next season. Currently 21,000.

And the big news ............. safe standing by 2020

I can only imagine the latter, given his wording.

This + general admission would be amazing, great news! Looks like he's actually aiming for 2019 per his comments, but 2020 as the latest it'll happen by

If I do my math correctly, MLS took 6000 seats (I don't know if this is true) for the final. This would mean that BMO would have to be bumped up to 31,000 for the final next year when we host it.

By the looks of 113/114 after last game, they might be better off starting now.

Orlando's safe standing section has impressed a lot of people, makes it a lot easier sell than before. Glad to see Manning is on board.

Just so I'm clear, is that the same as general admission?
Or are there numbered spots in the standing area?

My only experience with that sort of thing is the general admission terrace at Bristol Rovers games.

And if they did decide to go with general admission standing, would you still be buying tickets for a particular section, or anywhere in the southend?

I suppose this is all still speculation, but I need something to talk about online that doesn't risk me seeing Last Jedi spoilers.

Some safe standing setups still have fold down seats. That is what I would like to see in consideration of those who need to sit at times.

Obviously it doesn't mean much, but fwiw Orlando don't seem to have the fold down seats - which at the very least means we know they aren't essential to an MLS team in the way they are to, say, a German team who need them for Champions League matches

There is a concern, I thought, as either CONCACAF or FIFA requires physical seats to be used.

This would be a blow to CanMNT games if we were unable to use those seats / BMO.

They will be the folding rail style like in Germany...which is cool for FIFA.

So does that mean the south end will be concrete? Orlando and LAFC have the safe standing seats imbedded into the concrete floor.

I don't think it will work with the aluminum stands we have now. If that's the case then perhaps MLSE could make the south end steeper!
