The crazy scenes in the Genk stands after the magnificent victory against Standard struck sharply against the worried looks in the grandstand. There was cheered with a lot of reserve. In the middle of the title fight, KRC Genk is in danger of losing its captain. Alejandro Pozuelo wants to leave immediately for the Canadian Toronto FC and threatens a legal battle if KRC Genk does not want to let him go. He said goodbye to Genk fans in tears. For good?

You will undoubtedly remember the romance between Alejandro Pozuelo and Al-Ahli a few weeks ago.The Saudi club swore with a multi-million contract and was prepared to make a transfer fee of eight million ...

So sources conflict on whether we made the offer or Montreal did.

Pozuelo fits every box previously described. Top league? Check. Playing well and regularly? Check and check. In his prime? Check. Attacking player? Check.

Didn’t the FO initially want VV when he was in Belgium, and was a target for what would become the Giovinco signing?

Could be a good indication they have been looking at a sub-Top 5/6 league looking for possible targets.

The cheesemonger isn’t going to send a player worth that much to MTL...

As noted he ticks all the boxes. Even a similar situation to Vazquez being a Spaniard who spent time in Belgium.

He’d have to be. Genk has been playing very well and are still in EL.

Edit: he’s also been one of the reasons for their success.

The best part is he has very minimal injury history.

    I fully endorse this signing.

His track record is impressive. Basically a goal or assist every 2nd game going back the last 4 years. Very very slightly better than Vazquez did in Belgium and like Vazquez he has double the number of assists than goals. This would be great if we can make it happen.

Also backs up the shift in formation. If they’re signing a DP AM, we probably won’t be playing two up front anymore.

Unless of course they plan on playing their spectacular new signing, Özil, at RB.

Pozuelo looks like a fine player and would be an excellent replacement for VV. But as our new star DP?

I expected more from MLSE after trading for Marc Gasol and resigning the hockey playing guy for big money this week.

If this is our "top player at a top club," I am underwhelmed.

Have you ever heard anyone ever argue Belgium is a top league?

Belgian national team ain't so bad. It's one of the top leagues in Europe outside of the obvious

He’s 2nd for Golden Boot in the Belgian league, at a team that developed numerous stars in Europe and is doing great this season.

VV would have been a DP if he wasn’t broken and hating his life in Mexico — his exit shows that. He was a non-DP DP.

The quote was "very good player from a very good club".

Manning has said pretty much the exact same thing.
