In the event of a MTL goal GSP will be ringing that bell...

I would take a point from this game but would love it even more if we could sneak 3 points. I think the game hinges on how the defense copes with Drogba & Piatti. If we lose an early goal it could be a long afternoon

Great thing about MLS is that anyone can beat anyone on any given day. Let's hope it goes the way of TFC because it's long overdue.

What do we think the line-up will be?

    ----------------------Irwin----------------------
    --Beitashour--Perquis--Moor--Morrow-------
    --Endoh--Bradley-----Johnson---Osorio----
    --------Altidore-----Giovinco-----------

    or 4-3-3?

I'd like to see Delgado where Oso is tbh.

I am a big fan of Delgado, being 20 and already showing he can compete for a starting spot, but Osorio has easily outplayed Delgado so far this season.

We play the compact 4-4-2 and see if they can break us down. Should be an interesting match. If I was Montreal, I'd go with a 3-4-3 and dare Beitashour and Morrow to go forward.

Montreal will be a much more difficult opponent than DC, that's why Vanney rested some regulars.

TFC needs to put out the strongest lineup possible to go for the W.

I had actually forgotten that Williams played instead of Perquis lol

Thought the projected 11 was the same lineup as last week.

Are we really that worried about a team that's starting Eric Alexander and Kyle Bekker at CM? I don't think they're as good as people are hyping them up to be.

Bekker is having the run of his career thus far. I'm not saying DP or MOM, just saying this isn't the TFC Bekker. Here's hoping seeing us again will bring back that form.

"Good" is a bit ambiguous in MLS, where any team can beat any team on a given day... but they do seem to be a strong squad, no doubt about that.

Gotta admit, Bekker has been surprising me. TFC has a history of playing okay players in the wrong position or in the wrong way such that they suck balls. Bekker is looking like a serviceable DM! Our use of him as a box to box was probably a misallocation. He has no business shooting at goal lol

I haven't seen enough to comment on his current play but the biggest issue with him previously was defensive work-rate. He would not dig in and challenge or chase down opposing players in the midfield when required. Frequently looked like he jogged behind the play. His offensive skill set in no way justifies a one-way player.

So I'm not sure how he'd be fitting in as a DM right now. That would seem contrary to a lot of what I've noticed previously.

I remember him having a decent shot, free kick and a great pass, but lacking the running and tackling to play at this level. I'm shocked that he's looking half decent at DM of all places

Yup. Bekker had excellent skills, no in game application.

but I am happy for him. Hope it continues. After this week....

ps. Is it possible Kevin Payne was not so foolish after all?

Bekker still isn't a starter really, and Welshman is a bench player with RSL, while Payne passed on a slam dunk guarantee in Andrew Farrell, so... nah.

Payne may have saw this coming but this doesn't change the WHEN that Bekks is performing well and around which players.

I agree it's nice to see the Oakvillian doing well, just hope not later today.

Whatever's said and done, Bradley is still massively better than Bekker (I would argue Will Johnson is even better than Bradley in many respects).
