Ali Curtis + Toronto FC are parting ways, per sources. Curtis was TFC GM for 3 years. Made MLS Cup in 2019, 2nd-best record in 2020, wheels fell off in 2021.Curtis in talks to join MLS' new lower-division league.

Having him here was the longest "2 weeks" ever.

Glad that's sorted and now I am more optimistic moving forward. Things will be happening now.

Did not expect it, but the right call.

    I'm shocked! Literally shocked.

In life, I believe that things happen in 3's.
As a Man Utd and TFC fan, yesterday presented 2 transforming changes at the clubs I support. Ole and Jozy.
I was seriously wondering what the 3rd would be, but I never expected this.

Even though we haven't announced anything, I'm more optimistic about our chances at a proper offseason.

Considering his recent interviews I'm shocked.

Looking forward to Bob Bradley. We will have two free DP slots and maybe a good chunk of the large contracts off the books.

My prediction weeks ago was that Bob is coming into the front office role (I was unsure whether he would replace Manning or Curtis), and Michael will be the manager.

This prediction is so far out there that nobody even responded at the time! If you think this is nuts, I have no issue with that. This is just my wild ass guess at what might work for Bob here (the manager job would hardly be a new challenge for Bob).

I still think that is the way to bet it, if I could get odds.

It's depressing that I think you're not far off, Ensco. Even if not this season I wouldn't be shocked if that was the 3 year plan and we go GM-less this season with Manning/Bradley combining on it and we slowly transition to Michael coming in. And I absolutely hate that plan.

I don't think this will be the way. I think Bob in the dual role thing for a few years with Michael as his assistant until he gets his badges and is ready. I could 100% see Michael as player/assistant next year though.

I think the concern is more Michael as unproven manager than Bob as GM in this case and I agree with that. He can wait, learn, and earn it like almost everybody else.

I'm fine with Bob having joint GM & coach titles. Similar to Arena and Vermee's as they are Head Coach and Sporting Directors.

If you cant see the glaringly obvious issues with a Bob GM and Mike coach in 2022 then I dont know what to tell ya...

Dual role like in Europe. There are a lot of head coaches in MLS who already have much of the on-field drilling handled by coaches, like in Europe. No reason to think if he brings his own team that he can’t handle both. They just need a numbers guy/capologist for the hard deets.

I don’t think they’ll allow Michael as head coach when he has no coaching experience or badges, and I suspect the “that’s crazy” reaction was to that part, not the idea of Bradley being a GM.

They’ll just call it “Manager” instead of Head Coach.

Michael, as captain of this club, utterly failed to keep the locker room together and the players motivated this year. He is the *worst* possible choice of manager of all internal candidates.

For the record, given the already inflamed tensions and poor disposition of this locker room, I don’t see a scenario where hiring Michael Bradley’s dad does not unnecessarily alienate certain members of the squad.

True but I am not sure anyone couldn't have got that room in order. We had WAY too many bad personalities in there and I think in the end, Michael's swearing in everyone's face thing ran it's course. That's why he needs to step aside, learn the craft, get his badges and then think about managing. He needs to learn a different approach than his current style but I don't see any reason he couldn't do the job a few years from now (like 5 years).
