Same with TFC - He didn't get the gaffer gig and has been overly critical of them ever since.
He just has this defender-centric opinion on everything. He did the same thing with that this morning while doing their analysis on the Qatar non-PK call. Ricketts was going crazy about how it wasn't called a penalty but Caldwell got into his "the defender was looking for contact so no PK" thing.

I didn’t find the English commentary that great. Commentator kept referring to Kamal Miller as Liam Millar. The match summariser was Jermaine Jenas, who I don’t overly enjoy.

I love the guy but has there been a worse roster move in TFC history than reupping Jozy? In a salary cap league with three DPs reupping someone with his injury record and age...The opportunity cost on that slot with the pedigree of DPs we can attract was just incredible. Not to mention the actual $$ we burned on it that could have been used on anything else

Mo Johnson because held multiple positions, and was here a lot longer.

He single handily set this club back for at least 4 years when we had incredible momentum.

Remember the waitlist for season tickets? Yeah just imagine where TFC would be if it was a well run club from day one.

Btw… i still would like to see Junior finish up with us. If he would be the depth forward for either LI or Bernie and occasional starting striker. My views haven’t changed on that.

Yeah, he's been excellent for Reading and Canada this year. Wasn't surprised he got the start, dead ball delivery has been amazing.

MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

Not really, just some deductive reasoning update regarding Mavinga.

The implication according to various tweets by him and the MLS Re-Entry Draft Format...

Mavinga 'can't wait to start the season- god is great' - 17NOV22.
Mavinga 'MLS is better than EPL' and 'MLS is the best league in the world' - 25NOV22.
Apparently he did not 'participate' in MLS Re-Entry Draft; not mentioned/cited in RED 1 or 2.
Possibly because he either received a Bona Fide Offer or choose to Opt Out?
Which would suggest an agreement with an MLS team; high probability TFC.

Mavinga wasn't in the Re-entry Draft because he qualifies for free agency, so he wasn't eligible for Re-entry Draft.

    Silly me.
    Rookie mistake.
Note to self, must always try to find and read MLS fine-print.

To explain, that assumption was based primarily on a MLS article by MLS Staff?
'During the Re-Entry Draft, MLS clubs can select players,
who are at least 22 years old,
and have a minimum of one year of MLS service,
    who are out of contract,
and did not receive a Bona Fide Offer,
or whose contract options were not exercised by their clubs'.

Which ergo also means/suggests Quentin Westberg was not/did not qualify as a 'Free Agent'?

    Free agency has higher requirements.

"Free Agency applies to players who are at least age 24 with at least five MLS service years that are either option-declined or out-of-contract at the end of the 2022 MLS season. "

Westberg didn't have 5 years of MLS service. Here's the full list

After watching Larin at the World Cup. If he’s not getting time at his new club. I think he would perfect as the 9 we could use with the two Italians on the wing.

he can hold up the ball, physical and has for mls above average movement for a 9

    Maybe.
If he can be had for a song and dance.
Salary at CBrugge seems to be circa 975K/USD?
Believe his last transfer fee from Besiktas was free?
Salary at Besiktas was circa 2M/E?
Transfer fee From Orlando circa 2M/USD?
Oddly, some sites overall rate him and Junior Holiett on par.
While JH has played forward a lot less times maybe he can be repurposed?
Also, into one of our Swiss Army blades; depth at various positions.
He seems to be at Reading on a yearly contract for 235K/USD.
Maybe an offer at 400K/USD may be enough to entice.
Unless there are family, wife and kids, considerations.
Or he is demanding too much.

    Would Larin work?
    With Lolo and Fede?
    Maybe.
    I do not know.
Though, for now, I would classify him as a second tier candidate.
Too good to be depth, yet enough of a question mark if he would be compatible with them.
Do we entertain another/others with a higher Footy IQ?
    Stylistically congruent?
    Perhaps a Suarez?
Yes, lots and lots of baggage and toxicity.
Still, he is roundabout Italian in where he makes his deposits.
He even tried getting his Italian Citizenship awhile ago; though that did not go well in scandalous fashion.
I think such discussion fundamentally revolves around three notions.
Finding someone... at their level of understanding, or someone who will play up to them, or someone they need to/can play down to.

    Post Script...
I believe in JJ. Though think it still needs to be determined which of the latter two he may be.
