It was an idiotic move and it looks like one of these guys has paid for it with his job.
Toronto FC baby...best team everrrrrrrrrr -Jozy
Companies like this pay good money to labour lawyers to ensure they don't get successfully sued. His current life just went schplat.
Most firings are job/performance related, I wonder without a charge being filed if this is a big wrongfully dismissal waiting to happen. If a Union is involved it has the chance to get even more complicated, especially if the guy files a grievance. This is very interesting on so many levels.

Can you fire someone for off colour comments made on their own time while in no way representing company?
guys life is ruined over a stupid juvenile prank.
Yeah, and who cares. He was a government fat cat, end of story.
After seeing everyone who has been involved to various levels and what we know, have seen and so on, the guy in the glasses in my view maybe should get off with nothing as he did not make the initial remark, never actually said anything lewd at anyone and by the end of just walked off. He was smug but other than that really did not do anything.

I'm really pissed this happened with him wearing a TFC shirt, it's embarrassing and shameful - yes, he's an idiot - but him wearing the jersey means it also reflects on the club and the fans...I hope MLSE finds a way to or stage something to address this apart from bans.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

The fact that this is 2015 and Hydro One more capitalizing on an opportunity to ring in some "good PR" as opposed to doing the right thing makes this a tad ridiculous. Not saying what the moron did was OK but would Hydro One have cared had this thing not been given the attention it has?
Wow, you can get fired from saying something stupid outside of work on your own private time? Talk about being harsh! But then again, Hydro One is on sale so it doesn't really matter when private companies end up buy majority of Hydro One shares and bring their own people.
Overall, this got way out of hand and MLSE needs to STFU when comes to morality when they themselves have screwed and lied to this fanbase so many times in the past. Banning idiots for life or even a year (lol) doesn't make you "good guy" and make it a right thing to do. They should haven't gotten involved and let this story die down like they did when Maple Leafs fan did same thing on CP24 in few months ago.
As for media, they're one of biggest scumbags you can find in our society. They will do anything for a story, so it's wise to ignore them and avoid dealing with them as much as possible.
apart from the bans and the written statement that came along with it, I don't think MLSE need to do anything more. doing so would give the issue more attention than it warrants, and atm it does just enough to say that this behavior is in no way tolerable or indicative of the club's standard's of behavior and conduct. It says these people do not represent us and others who follow their suit aren't welcome as part of this club. Not much more needs to be said on the matter from MLSE or the Club's point of view.
So was it the guy who actually said it and walked off? Or one of the guys who defended it on camera?
Toronto 'til I die - but I think they're trying to kill me.
You think banning couple of idiots going to stop people doing this?
If they felt so strongly about this, then how come they didn't ban a Maple Leafs fan who did same thing on their property (Maple Leaf square)?
MLSE just taking advantage of this situation for own personal gain (good PR).
