By all accounts, Bradley had a good game tonight versus Panama B. Only played the first half. No longer the US captain.

Should we be concerned that Seba didn't play in the game today?

Wow, $27 million for Almiron?! That’s huge money! I will be very curious to see if he does well in EPL. Even with their replacement signing, this will really weaken Atlanta I think.

Just shows what the value of staying in the PL is. Newcastle owner notoriously tight with money for transfers, now he's breaking club transfer records, he's going all in to stay up. Apparently they are working on other deals as well

That's a big transfer fee for the MLS. It's quite remarkable how far this league has progressed in the past 10 years.

I went last year. It is a pretty campus and the fields are easy to find. It is a college campus, so my family were the only TFC fans there. They were playing a 3X45 minute friendly against University of California at Fullerton, so the folks standing around were parents of the college kids. By all means go...

It seems questionable whether replacing Almiron with the reigning South American footballer of the year rates to be a meaningful downgrade for ATL.

He could be the next Barco as opposed to the next Almiron.

That's not really an apples to apples comparison. Pity arrives older, more proven and successful than both the players above (or any of their other South American signings)

Too early to write off Barco, I think he will have a much better season this year

Speaking of Atlanta - they are another MLS team having issues with long term committment and what that means in a world market.

(This after trying to get more money out of Newcastle leads me to believe they are not as smart as they think they are.)

NYCFC bought a DP today - $8.5 million fee for Alexandru Mitrita. He'll make under $1 million. Soccer hipsters know who he is and that he's a significant signing.

Ok, so DPs are being bought left, right and centre. What's the deal with our transfer window? Is it meaningless? Or is it just that announcements are ok before it opens?

Not sure if anyone has posted this before, but I just learned about Atlanta’s “Fan First Pricing” that’s been in place since their move to their new stadium.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/prishe/.../#33935b4c6399

Interesting idea. But even more interesting is that they kept this pricing during the Super Bowl last night.

    Could his work at BMO?

Makes too much sense I guess... But I predict MLSE will want to stay a high cost / high price organization.

Of course it helps that the Atlanta stadium has a 71k - 75k capacity. You can really do volume sales there. And in the NFL there's a serious tailgate tradition. If you can entice some of those people to come in early & spend in-stadium, that also helps.

The thing with those "Fan First Concessions" is that there are only one per concourse in the 70-75k stadium (its not all stands).
So while it is a nice initiative, most of the ATL fans don't go to the stand (at least all the time) as the lines are insane.

You can announce at any time you want. See the bolded below? That cant be transferred and processed in FIFAs TMSS until the MLS window opens. The windows pertain to transfers of player registrations.

Toronto FC announced Tuesday that the club has signed forward Terrence Boyd and will be added to the roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC)

Not true. I was able to enjoy the concessions at the all star game and the tfc game there last summer... lines were not insane. Best stadium experience ever. Place is amazing.
