Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
Obviously there are numerous options within that - Aketxe filling in for Vazquez. Hasler for Delgado, Osorio, Aketxe etc etc
Interesting little note in Larson's story: “That said, a well-placed source told the Sun this week the Reds could still land as many as three additional players as the club gets set to begin CONCACAF Champions League play on Tuesday in Colorado.”

Right now we only have 2 TAM players, van der wiel and Vazquez. Portland has 4 and said they are looking for a one more.
Perhaps we have three more TAM players coming, including Aketxe? Bring on the CCL!
I wish
It doesn't say that it will be three morr TAM players after Ager, that doesn't seem reasonable cap wise; just says three players, which would sound about right. We have 5 open slots I believe room for Jason Hernandez, Endoh/Kubel, maybe a TFC2 player or other low salary depth player as the three players
This is from Larson's recent article:
"Adding Aketxe would seem an ideal scenario given Victor Vazquez, 31, has suggested he intends to return to Spain to finish out his career."
Sam Stejsksl tweeted out we might still add 2-3 TAM players after the Aketxe news started to break
Hopefully theres a centre back coming in
I mean where else do you next most urgently need to add? depending on how you see things its some combination of centreback and striker and after that the most logical upgrade is at keeper

Damn, I had no idea about this, I was thinking Victor will be for at least 2 more seasons with TFC, beginning with this year's.
This is going to be a HUGE loss.
He'll easily play 2 more seasons in Spain if he'll return at 32.
Well there is still hope that if TFC is going to have a great 2018 season he might change his mind, to stay 1 more year!?
His contract is done at the end of the year according to transfermarkt. Maybe if we're lucky, we got him on a 2+1 option deal and he's happy and wants to stay one more year
Are all these 2 year contracts because they don't want anything extending past the next CBA?
Vazquez' son was born in 2013. Having him start school at home is perhaps important for his family. Just speculating, but it's a huge topic in any family that lives far from home.
Seba's oldest son was also born in 2013, fwiw.

"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
I was talking under the assumption that Aketxe was a formality and included in my calculation, while you are talking about him as one of the 3 additions. So I think we're on the same page regarding TAM cap number players. I'm just including him already, while you aren't. So 1-2 TAM players (depending on price/quality) available after Aketxe.
My comment about lack of room is in reference to the actual salary cap though, not the TAM cap, hence the TAM/GAM trade. Also, I prefer to look at it as $4 million TAM not $5.2 if we dip into next years TAM. I would rather save next years for next year rather than not have it available. Each TAM signing must count for at minimum 150k. Do we have $450k in cap space for three signings? Perhaps trading Clint Irwin would free up room for one. I do believe we have TAM left (maybe $~1.5M left out of the $4million), especially given all our TAM players have been on free or very low transfers (Vasquez, vdW, Aketxe, Auro?) it's actual cap space I'm not sure we have. I just try to not get my hopes up, so I always try to be conservative about potential additions, but we do have the best cap manager in the league in Bez
Edit: I just found this
And there's also anything leftover from the $1.3 million in TAM provided to each club in previous seasons (the $500,000 granted in 2015 that expires in 2019 and the $800,000 allotted in 2016 for use over four transfer windows).

Not sure how much/if any of this old TAM we have left, I had completely forgotten the old TAM had a long life span and was considering only current TAM. This could also be a beneficial factor

So it seems like Aketxe will be announced / presented just next week on Wednesday or Thursday after the team is back from Colorado?!
Anyone other than me feeling not sure about this signing until not seeing this dude in TFC's kit?
