Ok, OT here compared to the rest of the conversation but there is no way in hell the Impact got $4 million for Silva.
Like lol, come on.

Alright, here's some good news that Facebook reminded me of!!
6 Years ago we fired Paul Mariner.

Voyaguers's format announced.
We get a bye to the semi's.
Home game August 14th.

^That format is genuinely interesting. Kind of a different benchmarking level at each stage of the competition. (Not that I understanding the weird tiering of the CPL. but hey, not my problem.)
Also provides a real reward for the defending champion.
I like it!

For the first run they needed some way to separate the CPL teams to ensure even numbers in each round (inception date was probably the easiest)
I feel as though in 2020 it will be League 1 and Quebec in the 1st Qualifying and the CPL teams will then be distributed based on regular season finish (with the CPL champion taking the Fury's spot in the Semi round provided the Fury do move over, if not then Ottawa stays in the Semi round).

Finally feels like a real tournament, like that it is still home and away.
I thought Canada was going to get 2 spots in the Champions league once the CPL was up and running?
This is a shocking format IMO. The reason they gave to split CanPL teams is beyond idiotic. Ottawa Fury getting a bye to the 3rd round along with the other MLS teams is also dumb, considering CanPL is supposed to be D1 and USl is D2.
They could have made it simple, but dropped the ball.
Reminds me of the CCL situation for years - that was designed so that US & Mexican teams would play each other in the quarters. This is a system designed to put 3 of the MLS teams into the semi's.
I'd note there is no seeding anymore - luck of the draw for who in the semi's plays the non MLS team. We are VERY unlikely to be playing a CPL team this year.
Can anyone explain why Trevor Noah got a TFC jersey?

Who cares? It's cool!
TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
Concacaf League makes the most sense from a CPL perspective. The games occur from August to October, so there's less likelihood of cold and snow. Also the CPL is an unknown level of play, so they should play in the CL until they win that Championship 3 times in a row and raise their league coefficient.
<Edit: Speaking of - TFC Preseason camp starts today!>
And so it begins

Ciman and Mavinga already look in sync
Zimmerman tied to LAFC now - originally TAM was supposed to be this - get in a US player not quite worth the DP salary but good enough to get more somewhere and keep him in North America

I thought u weren't allowed to increase a players salary to TAM level and then luckily drop his salary charge to only 150k.
This is the reason we were not allowed to sign Beita to TAM money and still keep him under the cap.
But with Zimmerman it's allowed to make him a TAM player?
Austin joins MLS as 27th team. They will play their first season in 2021.

I remain uncovinced that there are yet truly independent supporter groups in Austin. Almost all of the current people participated fully in a strong anti #savethecrew campaign, actively belittling the fans in Columbus. Sounded like shills for Precourt.
Today I've been in a slow twitter bun fight over these chants with a guy who says he's an Austin supporter but just happens to be from Ohio, recently moved and a social media manager. Paint me REALLY skeptical of whether there is actual support in Austin for that team.

We will see how long that lasts.
SSH's - check your emails .
CCL games beyond the first round are automatically opted in for SSH (like playoffs last year).
You have to opt out in the next 30 days if you don't want them.
Can't opt out of one or 2 of those rounds.
