He's 32. That's prime playing years for a CD. He's core for the next 2 seasons.
I would include Henry in the core also. As mentioned, Caldwell is getting long in the tooth so Henry should be the one who takes over the back 4 leader role.

Ecks is tricky because of his contract but, if we get that settled around, he's someone I expect to improve a lot as the team gets better. I really wish he'd work on that cross, though! I don't know Agboss well enough, but I'd love to see Henry thrive.
Nothing to it, but enough to ask Payne about it.
He has 2 good years left in him for sure (the length of his contract) and hopefully by then Agboss & Henry will be ready to do the job in tandem full time. Then we are set at CB for 5+ years post-Caldwell.
Caldwell is a great addition to our club. He is currently playing very well. If we can get a couple of good years out of him, then that is great
This is what I'm hoping for. 2 would be asking for the stars though.
At least have one of these guys ready full time and possibly another CB signing over this period.

Ecks, Caldwell, Elmer, Lambe, Laba, Earnshaw, Koef, Brockie, Rey, Frei... And that's without the imaginary 2 new strikers.
David Ferreira is only two inches taller, with nowhere near the pedigree or pace of this guy. Pretty sure he'll be fine if he's got it.
He does well in Series A and they are much more athletically capable there than in MLS. We might be a physical league, but the physical capabilities of our players is nowhere near a world class level.
