I can't comment on why Canadian Blue was asking his questions, but I personally did not know Parkdale was under the employ of any of these people...I think if anyone is doing that here, would be good to have it disclosure. I have no reason to think that Parkdale has done anything wrong...

just to answer your question.... (and I'm not offended by the questions or anything)
I don't work for MLSE. I don't work for Joe's. I don't work for BMO.
I don't work for the BMO Security company, and I don't work for... anyone related to TFC/RPB/Joe's etc.
I've never gotten paid a cent by Joe. The reason why I do some 'work'
for him (like helping promote his patio party) is to make sure the relation
between the RPB's and the bar stays good. We totally lucked out with
that place, and in any relationship, both sides have to put in an effort.
I understand some people will think I'm getting kickbacks or whatever from the bar,
but the honest truth is that someone has to put in an effort to keep the RPB-Joe's
partnership happy, and it benefits all of us in the end.
I think in the past 3 years, I've gotten less than $40 worth of free beer.
Oh, and he bought me a bottle of burboun when we went to Chicago.
the real reward --> a bar I can call home. (and so can the whole group)

Did you work on the video that was used at the 2009 Kit Unveiling party?
Has TFC/MLSE ever paid you or the company you work for, for services/videos?
If the answer is Yes to either of these questions then I think people should know that.
If the answer is No, then I've done you a favour by giving you the opportunity to put all the rumours to rest.
WTF...
Are you guys serious?!

Do you mean the kit party video on youtube? I didn't get paid for that.
In fact, I paid to be at that party (well.. to buy a jersey), so I'm out of pocket.
The 'My Town' video was done out of pocket, and just because I thought
(and still think) it was a cool idea and I knew I could make it happen.
No one got paid to be involved with it.
I did edit two videos for TFC back in the first season.
One was a highlight reel that was shown at the last game,
and the other one was the video of Mo Edu that went to the
judges who voted him Rookie of the Year. The company I work
for was paid for those videos, but I didn't get any extra cash for it.
The opportunity came up to watch TFC and call it 'work'.
who wouldn't take that? Yeah my company got some cash,
but it was small changed compared to our real clients.
(honestly, I spend more cash on beer at BMO in a season)
so there you go - I've still never received payment for the shit I do.

ease up on the guy people - you guys are being pathetic
the guy is simply doing what he loves doing for a football club that he cares about
that's pretty much it.
I've met a number of people who work with, for and ON the team,
and I know for a fact that they want to have a winning team too.
It's really easy for us armchair quaterbacks to say:
'Fuck the FO, they are the reason our team sucks'
BUT that's just not the case. The guys that work there
want to win just as much as we do. The high up MLSE suits....?
I've never met them so I can't say what they think,
but I know that guys like Paul B, the ticket reps and
the rest of the FO want to win. Why wouldn't they?

thanks. that's pretty much it.
we all have a way of giving back (to the team and to other supporters).
I'm not a capo (which is good for everyone) but I AM a guy who edits videos.
Just like the Ramblers are a band, who happens to write TFC songs,
some people use whatever talents they have to support the team
in other ways. Not everyone can be a capo, but everyone has some
kind of skill they can use. My just happens to be nerdy A/V geek shit.

"...Money wasn't tight, but it like, it wasn't right..."
[quote=Parkdale;553720]I don't think many people are questioning whether Paul B wants to win. Of course everyone wants to win. That doesn't change the fact that it's a money hungry organization that will put money before their supporters (including Paul). Ironically enough it's those supporter's that create the attractive experience.
Do you know how many people I know that wouldn't even watch an away game on TV if it was the only thing on TV? yet they own season tickets simply because of the experience? Fuck I swear I know someone who goes to every game and still doens't know the names of most players that play for TFC.
Take that experience away, and bye bye TFC.
Um, just a post I noticed way back on the first page I'd like to comment on... Some people will just never be pleased. I remember when NY Red Bulls played Barcelona, everyone on here was moaning about how we never would play a big team in a friendly and playing teams like Independiente was pointless, etc.
Now we get a game against a team that 5-6 years ago was the biggest in the world and people bitch about MLSE being money-grabbers and wistfully talk about them good old days when we played once-great Argentinian sides in friendlies.
I understand people are upset about the Madrid game not being included in the season ticket package, but hell, do you think any other MLS club wouldn't raise prices for this kind of game? Not only that, but this means we get two international friendlies in one year. When we're back to playing the likes of Pachuca in friendlies again, you might be sorry you skipped out on seeing TFC play Real Madrid.
I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with TFC right now, far from it. But I don't like spur-of-the-moment hysteria, and that's all I'm seeing in this thread.

Actually, to be truthful I did not know the answer to those questions at all and that is why I asked. I was by no means attempting to attack his character as I know he is a loyal supporter of the club regardless.
Parkdale, my apologies for asking the question at the wrong time (volitile environment), wrong thread (volitile thread), and in the wrong manner (public thread vs PM). It was not meant as challenging but I see it may have come across that way so again my apologies, my intention was not to create a shitstorm.
So you see nothing wrong with the fact that a game last year where 9 out of 11 starters were missing but there was refusal to reschedule it, now have no issues with resceduling a game for a meanningless friendly?
You see nothing wrong with the fact that the players our FO pays to play for us aren't good enough for grass (or at least to have a stronger push by FO for it), but a one off game where lots of money will be spent to have temporary grass (money that can be saved for permanent grass) is good enough?
The price issue is a piece of the big picture here.....a picture I see a big problem with....
Thanks Parkdale, and your balanced approach is appreciated. I'm with you, I don't get the constant conspiracy theories about how the FO just wants to lose, and they're taking advantage of us (last I checked I had the option of buying tickets, I wasn't forced) and so on. These thoughts just don't make any sense to me.
As for "MLSE is greedy and cares more for money than they do their supporters!". Umm, yeah? Why is this news? They care about the supporters BECAUSE they pay, and because they make them money. The second that changes, you can bet they wouldn't care about the supporters. In what world do you live in where this wouldn't be the case? I mean, I love my job, it's great and all, but do you think for a second I would be working here if I wasn't getting paid? Hell no. I don't work out of loyalty to my client (in this case my company), I work because it is profitable for me to do so. If they tried to sell me some line of BS about how I should work for them for free (or less) because I "owe them" something, I would be out of there, and finding a new job. I owe them nothing, just as they owe me nothing. They pay me because it's mutually benefitial, and I work for the same reason.
It's the same thing here. MLSE is out to get money. True. That doesn't mean that our interests don't coincide (winning gets them MORE money, but having more games, and being able to charge money to attend those games). Let's move on from "MLSE is evil because they are greedy" as if it were some sort of argument, and focus on specific gripes people might have.
no worries dude. I don't have anything to hide, so it never hurts to put the info out there for people to see. After all, if you didn't know the facts, there's probably lots more people who didn't know them either.
trust me, I know that there are many, many mistakes that have been made by the club (and FO), but I don't think their intention is to screw us. Yes, it's a business and their goal is to make money, but I'm sure the people on the ground level (Paul and his crew) want the team to win over all other considerations. The high level of the MLSE isn't stupid. They must know that there's more money to be made from a winning team (playoffs, merch sales, sponsorhips etc) than off a well supported, but mediocre team.

PARKDALE - Immediately provide your tax returns and bank statements for the last seven calendar years. You are being subjected to a "Citizens Audit".
Parky - invite Paul down to Shoeless tonight.

Hey Canadian
Who are we playing in the friendly this year? I've got a ticket valued at over $100. I'm kinda curious........ oh, the likes of Pachuca again, I see.
Get the picture - I've been ripped off by that scumbag Paul.
You going to pay $200 to see RM and TFC?
B
How the fuck did this topic evolve into palling out Porky?
In my humble opinion (once again only my personal opinion that I am entitled to) if football was porn Porkdale would be the Houston 500. I mean he'd blow everyone to completion no questions asked, just to make sure HE'S cool with everyone.
