Thats Very Upsetting..RIP Budgie............
Thats Very Upsetting..RIP Budgie............
What a huge loss. Brian was a great friend and did so much for football in Canada. he got Ally Mc Coist to play for our TSSL team , helped us win the Globe and Mail Cup, played and partied with him ... a minutes silence at Saturdays match is a must, I'm wearing a black arm band
RIP Brian
He really was the type of guy you felt you knew, even when ya didnt.
R.I.P budgie. Your gonna be missed.
RIP Budgie...
I heard about this last night but didn't want to post anything until there was confirmation. I saw him once in person at the Duke of Argyll after the first Milan-Liverpool CL final, he was having a couple of shots before going on the Score, larger than life character for sure.
He was only 56, death sucks. May he rest in peace.
Thanks Brian Budd & Family for all you've done.
Sorry since I;m sorta out of the loop, but was he the older guy on the Footy Show? The one w/o the English accent?
Rest in Peace Brian, I never had the chance to him play, but his contribution to the game in North America obviously is tremendous. My thoughts and prayers are with the Budd family.
Terrible news... He was just great. Comlete loudmouth, but totally awesome. Rest in peace Brian. You'll be missed by everyone and Sunday mornings aren't going to be the same without you.
Everyone lets Chant Budgie at 56th minute of Saturday's Game 56 to represent his age.
what a shock... i really liked Budd - this is so awful for his family and friends... RIP Budgie...
R.I.P Brian
There was only one Brian Budd and he broke the mold the day he was born. Great character, great contributor to the Canadian game.
Some of you wonder why some of us are going on about having TFC commemorate the Blizzard in another thread. Budgie would have understood and supported that. He would have been part of the reason for it.
And he'd be one of the first guys to say 'get it done'. Not for himself, necessarily, but because of his awareness of what those contributions to the game back then meant to the game today.
I'm sad to see him taken from us way too soon. I hope there's an appropriate acknowledgement made by TFC and us fans this weekend.
One Brian Budd, there's only one Brian Budd...
I had a pretty busy day yesterday and when I got home last night both myself and my wife were quite upset to learn of his passing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Birans family, a classy guy all around. As they said on the score last night - raise a pint to his memory, he would have loved that.

I think using this event to further a seperate cause is how one might interpret your post.
Like I said in the other thread, I would happily see TFC don Blizzard kits as a tribute to Brian Budd, but I would avoid using the death of Brian Budd to honour the Blizzard, if you see what I mean.
RIP budgie.
