Anschutz may well have saved MLS, but he's still a douchebag to me. I will continue to call it the MLS Cup and hope to see Toronto FC hoist it in tthe not too distant future.

TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
I don't have photo shop - so I made this with MS Paint.
One day ---- One day soon
I'd still like to win this first:
Now it actually looks a trophy a player would want to raise over their heads, instead of a rip-off of the Superbowl trophy. Maybe that will give them more motivation to actually try and win the thing.
If you want to see a funny moment, watch Extra Time and look at the expression on Garber's face when Greg Lalas says 'and it's actually a cup -- finally!"
It's my preference as well, Keystone.
I do like the new MLS Cup, though a lot of the metaphors in its design (stars, ribbons/stripes, etc.) are obvious and tacky. A casual fan looking at the new trophy wouldn't assume MLS is an international league or even attempting to branch out from just the US. I'm not saying we need to slap on some maple leafs or anything like that, just tone it down on the standard "yankified" design elements.
Did the USA , of all countries, just fix soccer? - C. Ronaldo, May 27th commenting on the FBI-led investigations into fraud and corruption throughout FIFA.
But even if you thought the old one was bad, check out the very first one:
Now that is just hideous.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
Exactly! It's a Canadian creation that was paid for and presented by Canadian soccer fans. To me, that makes it far more valuable then any Lamar Hunt Trophy or MLS Cup.
And the fact that the Impact's name is written all over it just gives us more initiative to win it next year.

Garber says in the video that there is a map of "the United States" on the bottom with stars representing all the teams.
Well, it's actually a map of North America! Why must they keep forgetting about us up here???!!
i like the new cup... but it really does look like old big ears, and in that sense its still kinda lame... kinda. That said i want it.
On a side i hope that since they've copied the trophy, maybe they'll get rid of those awful trophy presentations and copy the champions league.
looks a little like this unknown
I could care less if it looks like such-and-such trophy...
The fact that it looks good is all that matters.
Face it, that UEFA Cup isn't the only fancy spittoon in the awards biz.
I wish they would make the supporter's shield an actual sheild

honestly, does it matter what a cup looks like?????
It's our off-season. What would you rather we talk about?

I don't care if what you get for winning the final is a hunk of terd. I just want to win it.
^ I believe that would be a "turd"
