I don't really get the lineup, unless the intention is to truly just throw this game and rest everyone for Sat.

Pearlman's not on the senior roster

I'm interested to see if Devos can do the mid game adjustments - Herdman is very active in that regard.

It's weird, because I could swear we signed him, Batiz and Stefanovic to senior team deals last year. Maybe they were two-way somehow.

It's a lineup designed to hunker down, absorb pressure and maybe use Co-hay-jo's only skill (the longball pass) to hit a counter attack to Spicer or Kerr. It won't be pretty or fun to watch, but it is the best option to play with all the injuries and suspensions.

I have no idea looking at that lineup who's playing where.

Bono just got chipped from 45 yards by NYRB's Elias Manuel. Just blew his judgement of whether it was going in, given the lack of effort to stop it.

Choiniere scores a penalty against Columbus and does the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" mime.

My biggest question is who is the actual striker? Spicer or Kerr? I personally think Spicer in the middle with Etienne to the left and Kerr to the right would be the move, but there will likely be a ton of interchanging between the 3.

Nevermind. Guess we are using Kosi "best position is TBD" as a midfielder with Etienne and Kerr as strikers?

Hmmm... seems the TV one makes more sense, with Thompson at right mid in a 343, Petretta on the left.

It’s often no big loss, but is anyone else having really bad commentator sound on Apple TV?

They're too low and the crowd is too high.

So it's bunker ball for 90 mins, with the idea to put one over the top I guess. Bleh.

Coello with heart-attack play there. Top of the box, three men on him and he's fucking around instead of clearing it. aargh.

On replay, Spicer got ball, Shaff missed and kicked Spicer.

Shaff having issues against a WB as fast as him.

Commentator is only on the one side of the stereo mix...and low at that. I have one side over one ear and all I hear is Devos & crowd noise.

Hard to get too worked up about the result of this game either way -- this game screams scheduling and suspension based loss from the beginning --- we had the benefit of other teams coming into BMO short-handed and we took advantage of them too - over the course of a long season this crap happens sometimes --- on the other hand, with mostly a full-roster on Saturday, I will care a lot more about what I see on the pitch at BMO in three days....

Hmmm Mabika with solid recovery speed. Odd seeing us with speed spread around the pitch a bit. And against a team that moves the ball slower than we used to in the Bob era.

Coello has had some decent passes, but many of his easy passes are way too soft. He just trickles them over the grass, and often just stabs at the ball rather than putting his foot through it. He actually caused a turnover on a 2-meter pass earlier in the game. But yes, a bit better than in some other games.

All he needs is some shorter shorts and I’d mistake him for Rio Costa, haha.
