MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

Agree, good footballer (LW!). Not sure I would presently characterize him as disruptive; perhaps reckless? Particularly as a tag that has followed him from early in his career; Pachuca. He has essentially played for only three clubs in about a decade plus. Consistently over the years nationally, only less appearances recently. I think it is an interesting pursuit by Penn and Avina at SDFC. They seem to be taking at least a familiar page from the TFC/Manning strategy playbook.
Yes. Aware of that fan aspect sitch and could even agree; supporter polarizing. Just not sure that means disruptive; in the sense as in team mate/dressing room. More of an innocuous word hang-up for myself. I always understood him to be a joker; perhaps mischievous.
Probably coming as a TAM player who somehow finds 5 million dollars in the attic of his team provided house.

Giakoumakis is apparently leaving Atlanta.
Atlanta are paying him 2.5 mil and Cruz Azul offered 4 mil a season. I am not sure if they were not willing to match but I would happily pay that guy 4 million to be a striker on TFC.

i am glad we aren’t actually an elite team with serious expectations this year. If you support Cincinnati or Columbus, this would really torque you, it's unfair.
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
It takes all the supposed egalitarianism of MLS, our supposed professional and economic advantage over traditional leagues, and reduces it to a pile of camel dung outside a bedouin tent.
In other words, they might as well just let the Saudis in, if they insist on the "glamour" cities besting the league. They did it with LA, now they're doing it with Miami.
The accounting "flexibility" involved in all this makes you wonder why their former GM lost his job for overspending. He was practically a fucking saint compared to this roll out.
If they lose the Shield to Cincy and don't win the cup, it'll be both a small miracle and wonderfully embarrassing for Garber and crew, who are clearly writing a narrative for this season.
