U22, Daniel Jebbison
For Fans of Trade trees
Ralph Priso + $1 million GAM + 1st rounder (Bombito) -> Kaye -> Blessing -> ???
If we are going to do a 31 year old striker, we can do better then Cavalini.

We can do better then a 31 year old striker.
Would the league ever clear that? He did what was right for his career in strong arming Orlando but I doubt MLS would ever let him back in.
My other concern is that guy perpetually shows up out of shape and is up-and-down in form. I doubt sleepy old TFC and playing at home is a good fit. So we could be getting the Canadian Ronaldo or we could be getting the Canadian (fat) Ronaldo.
Blessing's salary basically covers a full roster spot, so they could easily bump Oso to TAM and get us a DP striker.
I'd be a little disappointed with Jebbison, as he hasn't really started scoring regularly yet in England, and I'm not sure he would here. Larin's not coming.
Cavallini is a meathead but a decent striker for MLS level. We could do worse, but I'd be pretty disappointed if, given the chance to make us truly competitive, we didn't get a proven 15-20 goal guy.
Well if I can’t have Giroud, I’m willing to give Cavallini a go. Just not sure Puebla will give him up; easily. He’s back with them and it seems they just recruited him from Tijuana. He’s playing, even starting and netting in LigaMX’s Apetura. Unable to determine his recent Mexican club salaries. At VWC he last made circa MLS GC USD1.5M.
I think we'd be more likely to see an English league veteran who isn't getting much playing time but is a known commodity, as that kind of player can usually get a release from their deal.
I think the bridge between Herdman and Hernandez is Rubio. IMO, the Yeye selection has his fingerprints all over it. I suspect the question to ask oneself may be whom would he contemplate as candidates to shortlist for consideration.
Michy Batshuayi was the first guy I ever watched play like 8 years ago and say to myself "that guy will 100% play in MLS".
someone on twitter claiming club trying to bring in cyle larin.
pinch of salt, but would tick a ton of boxes.
Old habits die hard and this is the kind of lazy move that would have happened from 2019 to 2023 so there's probably truth to it.
I don't think he's a good fit, I don't think he has the right mentality, and based on what he actually accomplished lately plus his certain character issues, he isn't worth a DP spot.
If in TAM range then sure.
he has 19 g/a in the past 18 months for a la liga side in a top 5 league (1 g/a every 168 mins).
he is already proven as a killer in MLS/ concacaf and has familiarity with the coach and system (from canada).
can run in behind, hold the ball up and finish, and in his prime.
would be an absolute home run signing. probably guarantees you 15 goals a year in MLS at a minimum.

The Larin thing will never go away. I mean, we have been a lazy team in recruitment in the past, but it's just a lazy, easy rumor to try and tweet out and if it happens you can be like "I had it first! Follow me for more scoops!".
That said, it does make some sense. I do worry about his motivation though. He might very well just see this as a big pay cheque and be lazy. He didn't exactly arrive to Mallorca in the best of shape.
Based on the pattern of other teams and how it's helping them, I suspect what we might try to do is buy down Osorio, sign a Young DP.
The lower budget charge would help the cap issue and they'll lower the first team age somewhat, position themselves to have a longer-term player or a sale down the road. Between the half salary charge and the elimination of the $150,000 third DP charge, we'd save almost half of Osorio's 700K plus buy down cost.
Herdman briefly mentioned they had deployed a scout to South America and were close to signing a player from down there, but the deal fell through. If we use that u-22 on a striker, you gotta think it will come from somewhere like Brazil or Argentina.
