Watered down? You are certainly not wrong.
How good is MLS? Maybe? Hopefully?
I presume NMT's for Mexico, USA and Canada are granted bypasses?
Also, I believe, for now, expansion may be happening again in 2026 from 32 to 48 teams!
What are the exponential fun and silly variables and correlations for any of that?
I'd be interested to see the numbers for the league with domestic team players removed (Ie. dont count Saudi league players for Saudi Arabia, don't count Qatar league for Qatar, don't count MLS for USA/Canada)
The more/most reasonable metric to make that correlation with.
Trying internet searches for such an exact list.
No luck so far.
Lots of other similar but more specific- leagues not overall World Cup- lists.
Thinking would have to be compiled from various sources.
Prefer not to make that effort.
Example to extrapolate from?

Maybe this... found? Sub link within same article.
Perhaps someone knows how to manipulate; import, extrapolate and excel it?

Fun and silly trivia...
According to https://www.sportingnews.com/uk/socc...jt0zpjxctbdqha
World Cup Squads from...
Argentina... seems to have sent only one domestic league/s player; rest of players are in foreign leagues.
England... all players seem to be from domestic league/s except one from foreign.
Qatar and KSA... players all seem to be from their domestic league/s.
Brazil... seems only three are from their domestic league/s.
Canada... 11 from shared domestic league/s.
USA... 9 from shared domestic league/s.
Did Atlanta sign Garth Lagerway? That’s big news.
They've known for a few months that he was likely going but... yeah, good record.
Schmetzer will be on a short leash now after missing the playoffs. Another bad season and Champion's League winners or not, he might get canned.
They have the Club World Cup next year. That'll be interesting.
Hmmm...
If an opportunity presents itself...
Next TFC or WC26 CMNT Manager?

Wow!
So implosion at CFM seems complete!
Besides host of key players apparently leaving/being pursued by other/international clubs.
Seems Nancy leaving for Columbus; to be announced Monday.
With Forge FC Manager Bobby Smyrniotis in running to replace him.
Same as usual 'in the muck' times for SirMister.

US Soccer twitter suggesting
a) Busquests to Inter Miami all but done
b) Messi to Inter Miami by summer 2023 will be announced soon after WC
If true, fully expect Miami to visit us BEFORE the summer - MLS is going to keep those sweet away game filled stadiums in places where they need them.
Mess playing anywhere but Europe or a club in Argentina would be so disappointing.
He can still play at the highest level for 3 years.
TFC ugly Christmas sweater
To the Suarez to MLS discussions
Not sure Suarez can be shoehorned into Miami when Busquets & Messi are also there & can't see him going anywhere else except LA.
Agree.
Part of my reasoning why he may actually be a TFC candidate.
One other of several? Who better to get service by then Lolo and Fede.
Unless, of course, DB is in mad go big or go home mode…
Gonna try to get the MSN Barca band back together?
With Busquets in Griezmann’s role.

LAG did an InterMiami

Vanney might actually bring LAG into the 2000's now...oh wait that suspension of Klein is only for a few more weeks.

Within this twitter thread ‘Read replies’…
There is an interesting mention of a yet unconfirmed sanction detail; perhaps overlooked?
No signing allowed of a player by LAG during next summer window that needs an ITC -International Trade Certificate?

FWIW...
And I do understand that the WC22 number is likely skewed by the USMNT's advancement.

Love this WC22 moment for, with and between MLS/FIFA Referee we are all familiar with... Ismail Elfath and Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar.
The Beautiful Game.

However...
Do not enjoy when MLS/FIFA Referee's, including those in the match's VAR Centre,
Do not understand and are unable to execute the simplest of the footy rules,
Of their IFAB- The International Football Association Board!

Officiating seems to be an ongoing issue at every level of league and tourney play!

I'm not watching the World Cup anymore, now that Canada and Germany are out.
This is better anyway. Wait until the end to catch the VAR controversy. It gets pretty heated.
And I can't believe they forced this star to play on artificial turf. He needs a better agent.

It was 5 years ago today we won the MLS Cup. Just got a a Facebook memory. Time flies!
I totally agree about the views & angles! Just because you can see some green between the ball and the line, especially looking on an angle, does not mean the whole of the ball has crossed the line.
I can think of some other situations over the years, especially on goals that were not called -- where the ball was obviously over the line, even when looking straight down line. For example, a goal that should have been called against England in a previous World Cup, but was not.
On the other hand, I think that the ball is often called out along the touchline when it actually wasn't fully over the line.
