Latest in Poland says the same, he should sign soon. Be nice if it was before the weekend!
Maybe we're wrong about Lawrence and Auro, maybe they're sufficient to the wingback role. As some have noted, Auro certainly got forward more when he started with us. But it would be nice to see some veteran right-side speed signed, in any case.
All good points. Don't disagree with any of them.
I was hoping that Lawrence was a Morrow type - just a bit more advancing. But as I mentioned before, I don't really know his full potential because of how much of a mess our defence were last year and he was playing CB a bunch.
Jimenez looks like a very astute under the radar type signing that could have a very positive impact. I like his versatility and he seems to have a decent finish.
Reminds me a bit of Ryan Johnson.
I agree. There seems to be universally positive sentiment on here around Jimenez. I've held off watching his mixtape to avoid disappointment. But I watched it tonight and I really like the look of this guy.
A few things jumped out at me:
1. He looks pretty fast, doesn't he? I don’t recall our ever having a proper No. 9 who can flat-out out run people. This oughta be fun
2. He seems perfectly happy to finish with his left
3. He can see (and make) the incisive pass. This is a pleasant surprise. It also means he can get around the park a bit which is always hard on defenders
4. His composure. Holy cow he’s composed in the box
He looks like a proper team player too.
So far so good. And he’s what, 28? Same as Salcedo. We’re gonna have these guys for 4 years of their prime football.
How much do we think Jesús Jiménez will make? It appears he's only making 109,000 euros per year.

Here's another Jimenez hype video that was posted earlier today with only 6 views. Dude looks really good, I'm excited.
I wonder how TFC identified him. His agent does represent one other player in MLS so could have come from there.

Woah! Big news

A three year deal? That seems like a lot... Really interested to see how this ends up being structured. Are we buying him out and he's signing with NER? Are we trading him and he's signing an extension or is he re-working his deal with NER?

"League sources"
Yeh, this sounds inaccurate - MLS head office doesn't leak player news.
Here’s Stejskal using league sources https://twitter.com/samstejskal/stat...992821760?s=21
Here’s Carlisle using it as well https://twitter.com/jeffreycarlisle/status/1432396264562257920?s=21

Anyways, the thought of Jozy playing on turf week in and week out just makes me squeemish - he ain't gonna make it to August.

Twellman confirms it.
Well, the scuttlebutt is that we triggered this with a $650k transfer fee. As I understand it, we need to amortize that amount over the period of his contract (or a shorter period). So lemme venture a guess. I'm going to say the combination of the annual amortized amount and his salary comes to, oh, I dunno, exactly $612,500 (keeping all our xAM-powder dry for if and when we buy down Salcedo). So, assuming a 3 year deal + option, I would guess he'll be getting $396,000 per year. Crikey, that's Dwyer money. That would be a great deal for us and a pretty meaningful raise for him.
League sources could mean all sorts of things. But now that TSN is running, its pretty much a done deal. Bell reporting on their own business.

Stein has broken USMNT/MLS stuff before.

That was kept ridiculously quiet, and if this is true explains why Jozy was nowhere to be seen.

Looks like Jozy has just started following the Revolution on Instagram
Daaaaaaamn. Damn. Was always gonna happen but seeing it essentially official like that makes it really sink in.
With Arena and Bou, are we about to see a Jozy resurgence?
Also, if I had to watch Tajon crossing balls in to Jozy for him to put away I'd probably cry myself to sleep so glad that's not a thing
Tajon is now providing service to Bas Dost at Club Brugge.
We play New England at home in August. Will be interesting to see the crowd reaction.
Wow indeed! With Soteldo done, the other shoe has finally dropped. I too am really interested how this ends up being structured....
Hopefully, somehow, even the littlest bit, to TFC's benefit.
IIRC someone on this thread may have mentioned a while back the possible Arena/NEREV connect/destination.
Maybe Arena did us a courtesy; a solid? Like Dallas and DD; with a cost of course.

I’d imagine that the three year contract is a way to manage cap hit. Jozy on Gillette turf is a disaster waiting to happen. Hope he rediscovers himself and glad this has a reached a conclusion.
