It should have been Curtis as that's his job. This is what he was hired to do. He was like Bez, overseeing football operations while Manning was worrying about the Argos and other BMO money making things. That's the management chain we had set up under Bez and it was continued. Problem was that Curtis turned out to be no Bez and showed himself to be below standards expected at this level. The fact that we had to hear and see Manning at all shows how bad he bollocksed it.
question is who is mandating that the younger players start- sounds like curtis, if so lol. next season will be very bad.
It makes sense to start the kids. We have to stop going out and buying the Deleon's and Mullins type players.
We also can't rely on buying players for every need - some of these have to come from the academy, otherwise what's the point in having one?
If in Jan 2021 TFC saw Ralph Priso was on the cusp of becoming a legit first team player, someone who could easily replace Bradley by the start of 2022 - it would make sense to start giving him more minutes to prove he can do it.
With that being said, I'm sure they saw the same in Shaff + Ayo
You either start them now or stunt their growth
If everyone stayed healthy this year - I think we would've seen the 3 above get the leadership support they needed to become legit first team players.
To get a picture of how quickly the league is changing, there isn't a single American or Canadian player in the MLS team of the week this week. All internationals (more from Brazil and Colombia than others.)

I don't get why Okello, JMR, and Nelson are all on 100k while Priso who looks the most ready to contribute is on 66k.
This would be are hard dressing room to be in, wages are not at all in line with contributions.
It really depends on when they signed the contract, in any case most of these youth contracts are short and the difference is not that substantial at this point.
Now if you want to talk about dressing room issues look no further than Bono. Half a million for a guy who single handedly looses games for the team, and may not even make a league 2 team in England. Hopefully he is investing that money because you're not getting anywhere near that again barring a miracle turn around.
Still think the person on here who thinks Bono has depth perception issues is correct.
One has to question why it is that Perez is sticking with Bono, game after game, loss after loss!
My theory is that those three signed deals in a January, so basically the club acknowledged they were good because it was offseason and had to pay a premium. Priso got signed mid season during an injury crisis, so tfc probably had a bit more leverage, saying sign a minimum or we'll just sign someone else. If you want a pro deal, then sign it.
Looking at the TFC roster from a General Manager coming in fresh January 1st 2022 this is one sorry squad.
Right off ,the list of players that should be released is as follows: Mullins- Dwyer-Altidore-Gallardo-Dunn-Gonzalez-Deleon -Bono-Westburg-with Morrow retiring.
Next you evaluate who is genuine first teamers from the remainder.
Auro-Mavinga-Lawrence-Lareyea-Osario-Delgado-Pozuela-Soteldo with the next bunch good coming off the bench ;Bradley-Shaffleburg-Zavaleta-Achara-Akinola.
Heading to TFC2 would beSilva-Singh-Perruzza-Marshall/Rutty-Nelson-Okello-Priso with a view to moving up to the main squad on merit.
Needed for this team to get back to a top level. 2 Goalkeepers-2 defenders-2 midfielders-2 forwards
Manning has to wake up find a quality GM who in turn will find a quality coach who between them get the players required to reach the next level.
Just my take on requirements for an improvement for next season.
Doyle misses a few things in his end of season analysis but gets the big need is the coach first

Van Bommel was just sacked by Wolfsburg. He should be called immediately.
Yeh, cause guys with absolutely no MLS experience are guaranteed gold here...
I can think of one - Tata Martinez & he had a team built around what he wanted with enough journeymen MLS types he didn't have to care about the rules all that much.
Maybe if you squint Vierra.
Ole Solskjaer will probably be available tomorrow.
^ I don’t fully buy into it either but I am a tad skeptical of the big name Europeans who make their way over to this side of the pond. Always feels like a short stay and maybe misplaced.
I like the guys who have track records managing smaller or mid range clubs, because I get the sense they would better understand the practicalities of dealing with less than perfect conditions.
