MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
I agree. Some of the things Armas has said I swear I lost brain cells either listening or reading them. For example, in the article Armas says success will come when the full team has bought in. Bought into what exactly. I have yet too see any strategy, game plan or team identity yet this year. It is like Timbit soccer at times where everyone runs to get the ball back, and once they do there is no clear plan going forward. I know we have had injuries but to from 3 points off winning a second shield to 5 points in 7 games is ridiculous. At some point there needs to be some accountability. The whole we are trying really hard and getting better song and dance being paraded by Armas, Curtis and Manning needs to stop
I’d really like Armas or Ali to say something like “we have had a really difficult start. Although injuries have played a role, it’s more that we haven’t got the high press working the way we want. It’s left us vulnerable at the back and we need to fix that problem. This is a team great in possession - we are not trying to replace that, but add to it. The international break has given us a chance to work on the triggers for when we press and the runs we use at these moments “
Also, my impression is that Armas is well liked in the soccer world, is competitive as all hell, passionate, and has a clear vision of the game - but doesn’t really know how to make that happen in training or in the little details of instruction and tactics that make all the difference.
TFC should look into Hoilett. At 31 a 2-3 year contract would be good. A motivated Hoilett would be a perfect match and great value on the opposite wing of Soteldo. He's a better fit then Altidore at this point imo and would be 1/6 the cost.

Also of note: Shaan Hundal, formerly of TFCA scored for Fort Lauderdale, his 4th of the season.
Giovinco for Jozy. We eat Seba’s 5 million for the rest of the year (he’s on 10m a year IIRC) and they get a guy who isn’t 34 at cheaper wage per annum.
Pure spec based on Seba being in Oakville right now.
I live for the day Giovinco retires. My biggest pet peeve in TFC fandom is the constant 'bring back Seba' posts on Twitter. If we brought in anyone else his age everyone would have a fit.
I thought the last half of his last year, he looked out of gas and found out. The second gear wasn't there anymore, other players were getting a foot in before he could beat them. He's our best-ever player, by a country mile, but it would be a mistake.
If like Vasquez he was more of a distributor and could play off the back foot more, play both ways. But then he wouldn't have been Giovinco.
Thing is he could do that role but just won't.
As for bringing Giovinco back, although I highly doubt it would happen, I could see Curtis thinking about it as it's lazy but would be good PR move for when TFC comes back to Canada with one win and an unresolved Jozy situation. Although Giovinco would have to be a loan obviously.
Well we could bring back Giovinco next year easily the way we're playing. Since he has to go through the Allocation Order (same as Vazquez did), but with the the way we're playing under Armas, we'll be at the top of the Order next season. Plus his contract apparently ends Dec 31.
Note: I'm not in favour of bringing him back, I agree he's lost a step. This was a way to joke about us being in last under Armas

It’s interesting to see that Altidore has been named to the US preliminary squad for the Gold Cup.
Probably the last chance for Jozy with the USMNT. Gonna be really hard to justify selecting him though if he hasn't played in over six weeks. Feel bad for him.
