Let’s not do that... Singh is a very popular last name
As I said, it was a glib comment on this board (although I can't find it now, so maybe it was reddit tfc) that I may have taken out of tone.
I wasn't suggesting it because they have the same last name, one of the most common in the world. Good grief. I hate to inform people who grotesquely love a lack of nuance, but literally no one posting here is that stupid.
Ahh, didn’t know it’s only allowed in the off season (MLS thinking 🤦🏼*♂️).
Still, if nobody wants to pay for him, I’d offer to pay him his remaining salary, and trade him. In essence, it’s a buyout, but you can get away from the cap hit. Or you can add his money owned in salary to the transfer, and the new team can give him a new contract with that money involved.
FWIW I was actually surprised when Jozy was taken off for Ayo, rather than Ayo coming in to play up top with Jozy considering we needed a goal.
Wonder if Jozy would be open to teaming back up with Robin Fraser in Colorado? The Rapids have open DP spots and I suppose TFC could retain salary. Not like they havent pissed DP money up a wall before....
That would have made more sense to me.
Given how effective he was as a late sub when he had more energy than the opposition, I don't know why we don't just play Jozy as a late gamebreaker. He has that potential, he's here for another year.
I'd rather he play the last 30 mins of most games and score a bunch of goals than play 60 or 70 each time and do zip.
At least then there might be some merited confidence that he still has some gas in the tank.
Bill Manning was a decent player in his time playing at about 3rd tier US soccer - roughly the same level - genetics do sometimes mean something.
Yeah, possibly. He wouldn't like it, I'm sure.
The price tag isn't really an issue, as he's bought down. His last year is probably just north of a million or so based on other front-loaded MLS contracts. So while it's still DP high, a goal every other game or so from a sub role would justify it. He'd still end up with 10-15 on the year, which we haven't had from him in several years now.
But you might be right; if he was pushing for the Cruz Azul move he perhaps has yet to accept any of his age and physical limitations.
Just realized Bill Manning briefly played for the Puerto Rico national team. I never knew that.

Gotta say, the crappy start, mostly terrible looking play, not playing at BMO and now this make it awfully hard to actively support TFC right now. I feel tired of it all.
This is turning into quite the mess.
Ali/Manning – their player acquisition has actually been decent. Laryea, Pozuelo and Westberg were amazing pick-ups. I’d even throw Gonzalez in the great category. Slowing now, but when we nabbed him we went on what, a 13 game unbeaten run to a final with impeccable defensive record? Still early but Soteldo and Lawrence also looking like tidy business. Piatti and Benezet kinda meh but had some good moments and we didn’t get locked into mediocre long-term Tam/DP. Say what you want about Mullinho but probably still an upgrade over Hamilton. Gallardo has been a big miss, and in hindsight this Jozy extension is a nightmare. I’m sure I’m missing some and may have mixed up timing on Ali changeover. But I’m much more forgiving on 2-weeks if the players arriving are ultimately solid.
What kills me the though is the Armas hiring. Not necessarily Armas himself, but changing the clubs identity. We finally found a successful identity as a possession based, build-up team and on a dime decided to take this mature/aging core and turn them into a pressing team.
Last two seasons saw a cup final and supporters shield run – why flip the script on this roster when it was already performing reasonably well. At best those are the results you’re hoping to replicate. They should have been chasing coaches that could put a similar spin on what Vanney was already doing and that we know this team can accomplish. Why build a team to do one thing then ask them to do something completely different?
Armas – He got hired to run the team a certain way and I can’t blame him for executing that vision. What’s becoming harder to swallow, is playing people out of position, banishing Q and this endless string of injuries. Patience is running thin. There’s only so much leash when you have the most expensive roster in the league at your disposal supplemented by decent academy options. If Pozuelo can’t get us back to scoring and winning this experiment better come to a quick conclusion. 10 games in it’s 2W, 3D, 5L. That’s expansion team performance, not perennial powerhouse changes coaches. Not good enough.
Jozy – it’s a shame but seems like we’ve been heading down this road for a while. He’s always had some attitude but hasn’t been backing it up on the field for a while now… I’m guessing the issues stem from more than just this past weekend. I posted a few weeks back about KJs cryptic commentary after the Cruz Azul game where he referenced Jozy playing his last game for TFC. Even the Twellman spat wasn’t a great look – I get sticking up for the UMNT teammates, but he didn’t do it very tactfully, it just added to the feeling that it’s always Jozy against the world these days. Will always love him for what he’s done here but the magic just isn’t there anymore and DP slots can’t be wasted.
The good thing is we still have a lot of talented players that aren’t afraid of putting in hard work for this club. Really hoping we can steady the ship and the team can continue to adapt to the pressing system. I think Jozy was likely a situation waiting to blow up regardless of who came in to coach this year, but his contract and performances the last 18 months wouldn't have generated many interested buyers this past off-season.
Rocco's season is over in Demark and he flying back from Europe today, so he will have to be added back to the roster after being on loan. There are 33 players currently on the roster including 3 out on loan, a decision will have to be made.

Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
We are a disaster, my god.
Jozy being given the Van der Wiel treatment when he should've been sold a year ago, we can't keep our best players healthy, we replaced Bez with the wrong GM who in turn hired the wrong coach.
I've honestly lost all interest in this season already and it's only still May.
RBNorth hasnt worked, it wont work ever, time we fans remember to be unified against RBNorth, and dont forget the big picture, they are going to ask for more time, however dont have any idea on running an effective club, whether it being the Jozy treatment, the lack of match fitness and sharpness required at a beginning of a season, hiding injuries from your fanbase, have no expectations for this club until RBNorth leaves
Looking forward to the return of town halls.
This has 'lost season' written all over it.
Ali Curtis said the injury was only confirmed late Thursday afternoon, adding the club had not expected the Venezuelan federation to announce it.
im confused, wasnt there a instrg post on monday with a clip of yefe s leg and a prayer emoji,so he must of been injured on monday or saturdays game?
