MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
Hey, there's still 4.5 hours to go until the season starts...(or about one interminable Friday afternoon wait to see what the latest lockdown changes are going to mean).
MLS rules that Miami fielded 4 DPs in 2020.
Miami buys out DP Pellegrini and somehow loans him to USL Fort Lauderdale?
Sanctions coming.
Way to start the 2021 MLS Season!
I feel bad for Pellegrini. He did nothing wrong, now he has to play in USL League One.
OUT:

Some interesting data here on who reps who:
https://www.transfermarkt.us/berater...ater?landId=80
Ayo has the same agent as Alphonso Davies.
Richie and Alex Bono have the same agent as Cyle Larin and Jonathan David.
Probably helps to know who reps who when it comes to relationships and reliability of transfer rumors.
More in the lists.
So Cinci grabbed another Dutch guy cause

A blast from TFC's past. He almost made the move here once or twice. I think it was Menendez who listed his car for sale on Instagram and we thought it was because he was moving to Toronto.
Holy crap - is Paul Dickov signing with Colorado next?
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
Not MLS per se but Tigres making (yet) another statement by signing Florian Thauvin to join Gignac.
So a significant Hungarian player was just acquired by Philly?

Is this allowed? I thought all Hungarians in MLS had to first play for Vermes in KC.

Caden Clark has been sold to RB Leipzig. He will finish the season on loan with NYRB before heading to Germany.
Of note - Montreal ditching an non(anti?) vaxxed player.

Time to sell DeLeon for Garber bucks
In an interesting turn of events, MAK seems to be headed to the Rapids along with a 1st round pick in 2022 for $1M in allocation + intl slot.
Raise your hand if you saw this coming.

Paint me less then impressed with LAFC's moves beyond that first year.
The only reason this makes sense is MAK takes up an int spot. Getting rid of a young offensive minded midfielder unlikely to go to Europe but who will play a lot of NT games in the next year?

Sebastian Driussi potentially closing a transfer to Austin. IMO Driussi would be a great capture for this league.
Driussi was a guy I thought TFC might pursue before they got Soteldo.
WE should go after Nathaniel Phillips at Liverpool. He's still relatively young (24) but has been told he won't get a new deal there.
He had to deputize in the Premier league for 17 games last year due to injuries and ended out playing really well, so he might be in the shop window and priced out. But if he's not, due to lack of top level of experience, we should nab him.
He's been there since 19 and never made the first team but he performs well whenever given a chance. His first deal was likely low, meaning if we could scramble a higher TAM deal together, at most, we could probably afford him.
Like Gallacher, not in Liverpool's future and available. Gallacher's going to Sunderland in League One which is at its best at about the same level as MLS, often poor/slower (although stylistically apples and pears really).
Sunderland pulled out of the Gallacher deal.
And Liverpool apparently want 15M for Nat Phillips. Brighton and Burnley are interested.
