Since we're all starved for any news.
Instagram Training camp photo's show Jayden Nelson is now wearing #11 instead of #80

More Young Money rules.

Also, it appears TFC owns Borré's discovery rights.

I wouldn't look TOO much into that # swap - last guy who had it was Jon Bakero.
Before that - everybody's favourite Mo Babouli
Gotta go back to Jackson for a regular who had that #

Jozy gonna surprise a few here.
RT @Beezersun: Talked to #TFCLive star Alejandro Pozuelo today. This is what he said about new head coach Chris Armas: "Amazing. Really. If…
IF Jozy can stay healthy, he will for sure surprise. In both goals and the fact that he stayed healthy.
This states that Borré has informed River's manager of his decision and will make it public in the coming week or two.

Pozuelo and upcoming season.

So with the Young Money DP limit, you can actually maximize both and have 3 DPs and 3 Young Moneys if one of your DPs is U23.
I'd be fine with just the one Young Money though if we get Borre and Jozy can be healthy. With Jozy, Borre, Pozo, Oso, Marky, Bradley, there's not that much space for the YM's unless we were going for a really young backline, or shipping out some of Oso/Marky/Bradley

Would you think one of those Young Player spots could be used to keep Ayo if mid level teams come calling from Europe? If a big four league offer comes not sure it would be enough, even if they plan on developing him with their u23 team in say Premier League 2. It will be interesting.
I really believe their will be some great opportunity to find good value players in Africa and South America too.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
I think this could be a tool to keep a guy like Ayo. Not indefinitely, but at least not lose him in the circumstance where he's nearing the end of his contract and teams are going to come with low ball deals that he may want to accept because they give him a pathway to Europe. Using this, maybe you keep him a bit longer and then sell him on when his value is higher. Its hard to know exact contract details in this league but this tool may provide the basis for not losing a young player the minute that they show promise to Europe.

An update on Borré. Doesn't seem good, but again, Google translate.

Might aswell get set to welcome Junior Hoilett and return to mediocrity, friends.
Rafael Borré calmed the future of his contract: "I am very happy at River, I will not find a better place, the renewal of my contract is advanced."
This tweet makes it a little more clear - https://twitter.com/RiverPlatePho/st...17982680743939
Not positive at all. Ali Curtis is clearly not the dealmaker Tim B was.
We don’t know anything with certainty yet... but that looks fairly negative in my books.
My concern when I heard we were on to this one was the appeal primarily lied in not having to pay a transfer fee. Sort of a unique situation. Also, if it is dead, sort of hard to recovery at this point with the window closed in a lot of places.
I’ll be interested to see what salary he accepts if he resigns with River Plate. If it’s that much lower, it just shows we were a stalking horse rather than a serious option.
Edit: all that said, let’s be open to the idea you don’t exactly flip a club like River Plate the bird if you are playing your way out of contract. He could have an angry mob at his doorstep with torches and a score to settle. Sounding friendly, even if he’s not, is in his best interest.

Massive loss. Ali dropped the ball during the last window and had to go with his plan C or D option when we signed Piatti. He was a fine addition, but he is not on the same level as Defoe, Giovinco, Bradley, Poz, Altidore, or even Gilberto.
Maybe this is a combination of Manning or Ali not working well together or MLSE not giving them resources, but either way, this new TFC is disappointing.
im getting bored with this borre situation,i wouldnt lose sleep if we didnt get him, especially if he doesnt come until june,im more concerned about winger,cb lb ,we have enough #9 for now,but man curtis sure cant close a deal.
We have no way of knowing how good (or not) Borre is, and whether any of this is just maneuvering by River to get $$$$. So far looks like a typical Curtis non deal deal.
More interesting to me is our midfield. Marky Delgado has huge value in the league given his skills and the fact that he is a top American. i wouldn't be surprised to see the team send him to California if they can get a mobile CB who can challenge for starting time along with someone else or huge amounts of Garber bucks. And Curtis and Manning do seem to know the talent that is in the league well. I dont know the rosters of the Galaxy and LAFC well enough to judge if this is feasible
