"You have to build a culture but a culture isn't built off just the past, it's about what you do every single day."
Greg Vanney on the hiring of Dan Calichman, Nick Theslof, Jason Bent, and Kevin Hartman to his coaching staff Blue heartWhite heartYellow heart
Quite the dis to Conway that discussion of Hartman.
So, if you believe the Twitter chatter, the “team option” contract extension strikes again.
IIRC, you can do one extension within a contract (and that is valid) but MLS teams were sometimes doing multiple one-year options. So they’d cap a players upside while leaving them no job security. Some players under these arrangements have argued the options are invalid, and basically walked away from their contracts while transferring elsewhere, successfully too I might add. You’d never be able to come back but some players just don’t care.
Hard to feel bad for an ownership group that wants to have their cake and eat it too.
isnt Ayo on his option year,so they may get squat for him,he can jus leave now like larin camillo kaku, boy curtis has got alot on his plate,a offseason like no other
Cinci about to put $13 million down for the striker Brenner from Sao Paolo &...possibly are also in for Pity Martinez (must go through allocation).
To play for a Dutch coach...hmmmm

Yeah, that guy has said that a couple of times in the last week from a source in Chile but the Chilean association denied it.

Austin signs Pochettino:

LA Galaxy Away
That's practically a throwback jersey.
Pochettino is a big get for Austin. Be nice to think we're talking to players of similar skill and potential.
They can't be so focused on youth impact that they miss the sell-on value for younger players like Pavon and Pochettino.
Looks like Galaxy might get Pavon after all:

Sounds like FIFA legend, Alex Pato is going to Orlando.

That is excellent social media work there....
Man I loved Pato back in the day. He had completely disappeared off my radar.

Pato to Orlando official. No DP mentioned, so probably a TAM?
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

Henry steps down for personal reasons!!!

Joey Saputo is the James Dolan of MLS. He cannot get out of his own way.
"Personal Reasons" or Bournemouth is going to hire him
Apparently Montreal asked for too much money to break his contract so Bournemouth went elsewhere. Seems Henry is not impressed with Joey's club so he walked. Now he can take a job in the summer without any compensation to CFM and it will be much easier. Bourneouth didn't seem like a place he'd last long in anyway. I think he will go to Celtic unless something better opens up before then.
