Galaxy finally....finally....do it right and place this signing where it needs to be

As we learned up here, some people from a certain ethnic base will follow players from that base when they play in MLS (see Juve fans suddenly interested in TFC). There is strong evidence, for example, that Wolves has a following in Mexico based on Raul.
OK, its not the best for MLS quality wise to keep doing this.
BUT....this is a big signing to drive eyeballs to this league - and that can't be anything but a good thing.
And in other news
Gressel traded to DCU
Reports are for about $1 million in various forms of $
This is a big signing for the Galaxy and the MLS. This will add lots of exposure and the El Traffico games will become even larger.
DC has quietly had a very good off-season.

Very interesting - the desire for Europe is strong but the whole family dynamic is really interesting. These guys really want to play at the top level but if they can't, they just want to play.
Not often you get the truth in real time, in all its unvarnished complexity, like that.
That video is amazing, a remarkable piece of journalism. If there was a sports social media emmy award, that would get it!
Kudos to Chicharito for allowing that to go out. I like him already.

Reports Piatti has left Montreal for a team in Argentina.
Kicker reports that Hertha Berlin (and Jurgen Klinsmann) are releasing Salomon Kalou and that he's on his way to MLS.
He's 34. Would need a young 'un next to him.
I wonder who might take him.
Kalou sounds like a perfect fit for Orlando.

Paul Tenorio reporting that Miami are close to a deal for Rodolfo Pizzaro. Fee under 10M.

Be interested in the financial side of this deal, I hope for Cinci's sake that he's cheap. Not overly inspiring if this a DP deal which I can only assume it would be, as Brighton paid about $20Million for him 2 years ago.
Now officially confirmed, Nacho Piatti back to San Lorenzo in Argentina. Only room for 1 Piatti in Canada.
a great talent has left the league
gonna miss the nacho nacho man

Wow Walker Zimmerman traded to Nashville. Is LAFC in tear down mode already?!
Ok, its the auld enemy but...the man was good & not a douche. Only respect to him.
********
Zimmerman to Nashville is a big move - makes their defence instantly tougher (we face them 4 weeks Saturday at home). A LOT of Allocation money going back to LAFC for that. Not sure LAFC is making the right move though - takes awhile for defences to start working together & Zimmerman is a young horse that will be the bedrock of a defence for 8 years if a team would stick with him. If we didn't have Gonzalez & Mavinga, Zimmerman would be my "gotta get him" priority.

Winston Reid joins Sporting Kansas City on loan from West ham, will be highest paid defender in MLS, key is can he still play like he did before his horrific injury...
In his prime, one of the few players of their team able to produce a match-winning performance, if he can regain any of that form he will be a top defender in mls.

I'm a little surprised by this tbh. He's barely played the last four years, even if that's all because of injuries you would think his value has gone down a bit and he'd be willing to take a pay cut - especially if LAFC use however much cap space and TAM they got in the Zimmerman trade
