More conflicts arising from the FO, if they knew there was an injury with Michael Bradley they signed off on a contract to pay a player, who was injured and we never know if will be the same after the medical procedure, this shows the FO doesnt know how to run a team effectively, think about a PL team, if you know of a possible injury would you sign a player to a contract if you knew he was damaged, why havent MLS put more money into the medical aspects of our team and getting the proper doctors and rehab trainers, i would rather see an investment in that than a new player come this offseason

Tottenham signed Harry Kane. Fair comparison. But agreed the medical team needs questioning.

Update: I now also see news that Alessandrini will not be returning to LA Galaxy next season, so that likely opens up a DP spot for them.

I would love Fabian Castillo in this team. He's a free agent in June too! Would be a low tam player too.

I really really want Fraser to start but I think we're going to see at least some of Delgado at the 6 so that Oso and Poz can play in the same midfield.

If there weren't concerns about a Bradley-Osorio-Pozuelo midfield defensively, there probably will be with Fraser at the 6 in that scenario

Fraser-delgado-osorio midfield. vanney will put pozuelo on a wing unless we get that dp winger.

Rocco Romero signed to a homegrown contact.

Wow...an actual homegrown central defender (Dunn is a LB, IIRC)

That pipeline has to start becoming regular.

    I like it.

About time somebody in Canada produced a CB. Now tell him to hurry up and make the national team so we can stop using Henry.

I like Rocco, but I could care less about these signings until they get time. Let's see how many matches Rocco gets this year. My money is less than two in the first team.

These signings are about 2023 when we have to turn over a successful squad that just got old. He's #5 on the depth chart right now so he'll get MLS minutes & bench time rarely.

Don't know where you read that, but Dunn is a CB.

Oh god no please not Pozuelo on the wing. I hate it, and he hates it (although he also said he would do what the coach tells him). Square peg / round hole.

Listen to the player...Poz should never play on the wing...ever.
I liked Morgan...would have rather kept him than Uslessleta.

Rollins speculating on twitter that TFC was outbid by RSL for Morgan. i.e. He wasn't let go as much as wasn't offered what he could get

Well, at the expense of stating the obvious it would appear we need another depth option at fullback. I know Auro can technically play both sides but think we would want more cover.

Good luck to Ashton! I think a change of scenery might provide more opportunity.

I always liked Ashton Morgan and imagined that he would always be around. He won the "TFC survivor" award by surviving the bad old days, and always was a positive person. I hope the best for him.

Of note, there’s an actual podiatrist under that thread that appears to have a pretty low opinion of our medical staff.

so we have let go of Jay Chapman, Drew Moor, Caleb Patterson-Sewell, Ashtone Morgan, Aidan Daniels, Ryan Telfer, Jon Bakero, and Nicholas Benezet, and all we signed this offseason was a player who might be lucky to see our bench; i understand he may be better for our future, but TFC doesnt look like they have clear actions lined up, and i can say currently we are in a worse position then where we left off at the end of season

Not to mention how they handled the Michael Bradley injury

The only guy who saw regular action there was Benezet, and he will be replaced by a DP.

    We're fine.

    Will he?

Also I think the post makes a good point.

We have signed basically nobody and it's near the end of January.

Also: Today I remember buy-outs were a thing and am genuinely shocked that Zavaleta is still at the club. Is 300k on a 4th (5th when Moor was here) centreback intelligent in any world? Especially when he's a serious liability on the pitch.

Why not? We're all wringing our hands here way too early (as usual).

I'll give them until Feb 14th to sign the DP before I get worried. So a little more than 3 weeks. That timeline is fine for me.

As for Zavaleta, and buyouts, my guess is they're probably waiting to see what happens to determine whom to buy out. Zavs would seems to make the most sense, but who knows, something might happen during preseason and it turns out we need him.

No reason to do it earlier than necessary – might as well wait until the deadline, whenever it is.

Doesn’t the transfer window in Europe end January 31? We had problems with Pozuelo because of that. So Feb 14 only works if it’s a player from South America

Euro clubs can still let players go - they just can't bring players in. And I think a lot of clubs would want to wait until the end of the window, or even after, to know if they can afford to let someone go or not.

Like James said the teams can still sell. Our Pozuelo problem was that normally the buying club would approach them in early-mid January so they can look for a replacement but we waited until the window was pretty much closed so they were stuck.
