Wow a third trip to the MLS Cup Final for the Sounders in 4 years.

Well, now we have to beat Atlanta. Gotta have that tie-breaker against Seattle!
What kills me is the commentator was still calling LAFC the best team ever.... take that!!!
The other one called Atlanta in a walk over us... Let’s make them all wrong and go for the rubber match!!!
COYRs
Time for a rematch! Best two of the three (just have to beat Atlanta). COYR!
Seattle certainly frustrated LAFC in the second half. No passes were getting through. Seattle clogged up everything in the box.
Best team ever in the modern era --- still Toronto FC 2017......no one else in the modern era has won the true double (Shield and Cup) and gotten to the Finals of Champions League - and with our Goal Differential still better than Atlanta's from last year even with the same 69 point total (but they still didn't win the Shield and they blew it against us in the last game in the process - a non-playoff team; whereas we went into Atlanta and got the tie to get to 69 points).....never mind our Champions League performance was better than any other Shield and MLS Cup winner as well.....highest points per game for any double winner ever....(and this is without adding anything in regards to the Canadian Championship)......I guess I'm petty with this stuff, but I'm tired of everyone talking about how Atlanta and LAFC accomplished more than us in their respective seasons the past two seasons which is patently untrue....LAFC just pulled a NYRB tonight....

I'm also very happy that Seattle won -- odd feeling that!
This isn't the Seattle of old though, they have some legit finishers. Both via build-up and in the counter. I haven't watch much of their games in a while, so I don't know how they rate overall. They're going to be a tough Cup contender.
Seattle had what looked like a deliberate handball in the box not called, not VARd. So they win but not without controversy.
LA "fans" respond to the situation by chucking garbage on the pitch. Classy.
So it's either Toronto or Atlanta against Seattle for the final. Obviously I'd like to see TFC beat our nemesis in their own stadium, but there's still a tough team to beat at home for that to happen.

I was wondering the same and found that although there was a definitive handball, because there was no attacking (LAFC) player in the vicinity and it in no way impeded or impacted a goal scoring chance then the play continues. Not sure if it was the best source but at least somewhat logical even for VAR. Haven’t reviewed the play but if if I was an LAFC fan at the time I would be saying WTF. But i agree, throwing beer is low class and such a waste of a good drink.
Regardless, lets do our part boys and win tonight ....
Toronto had some terrible handball penalties given to us over the course of the year. Seattle had two clear handballs with flailing arms away from the body. Id be really upset if that happened to us without even looking at it with VAR.
At least now we can have the Trilogy tiebreaker with the Sounders!
Anybody who watched our game at LAFC knew that Seattle could win that.

I think Kaye is really the secret sauce to their midfield as much as nobody they line up in the middle is bad. Once he went down last year they werent as potent. Hes still on the mend despite playing last night and doesnt look like his usual self.
That said, they really came back down to earth after an impressive run at the start of the year. Still a great team (and maybe on balance the best in MLS this year) but not as far from the pack as the pundits made it sound.
I'm kinda torn on last night's result.
On the one hand, LAFC being eliminated means TFC's 2017 season will still remain the greatest in MLS history!
On the other, it was the snotbags from Seattle who did them in.
The thought of an Atlanta-Seattle MLS Cup Final makes me sick.
C'MON YOU REDS!!! BEAT ATLANTA, THEN SEATTLE, THEN BRING HOME THE CUP!!!
TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
TFC 2017-18 were the greatest either way. The effing media have never understood what we did.
LAFC had to win the double and then get results like we did in Mexico, or better.
It'll probably be decades before another MLS team does all that.

Just because I haven't seen anyone say it yet:
Ha, ha LAFC.
And this year you know the MLS brass were dying to have LAFC vs Atlanta. The hype for that would have been through the roof. As of now the biggest and really only MLS Cup story is the attendance.
As soon as Seattle beat LAFC, it struck me what an amazing feat it would be for us to meet them in another final—for the two teams to have never faced anyone else in an MLS Cup final—really intriguing, and there are plenty of ways to frame all that. The league's mentioned it, here or there, but you'd have thought they could push that angle a bit more, in the marketing.
In the grand scheme of things, I'm not too fussed… just a shame, as all these little things help grow the game, and it's something of a missed opportunity.
Chicago Fire looking to screw the supporters groups as part of the ownership change & move to a different stadium:

Fire ownership didn't change their front office - they are going to make some serious mistakes and could easily end up looking like Houston Dynamo - in a downtown location stadium but nobody bothers to go to because they are irrelevant.
Nice guy owner but his decision not to clean house in the FO is going to doom that team.
Interesting when you look the goal scoring stats for the regular season, you have three guys who are around 30 goals and then production drops off to roughly half that as Rossi is the next player on the list with 16. Neither team in the finals has a player in the top 10.
Maybe goals by committee is not so bad after all.
