Watching some preseason games, I have to say comparably we look behind other teams in terms of both form and talent.
Given it's early but we looked nowhere near prepared for our first competitive fixture of the season.

Guess the guys over on the MLS website don’t rate our chances very high this season. Hope we can prove them wrong!
- Ben Baer: 6th in East
- Calen Carr: 8th in East
- Charlie Davies: 5th in East
- Matt Doyle: 9th in East
- Bobby Warshaw: 6th in East
- Andrew Wiebe: 9th in East
This year's season ticket scarf I guess?

That article is...flawed. It assumes our defence is good while the attack stays the way it is.

To me those guys write all their stuff in the moment. If TFC won the first CCL game 4-0 instead of losing it all of a sudden their predictions would have been different I bet. Even with the same result and if the signings (TAM + Poz) were officially announced the predictions would be different as well. I don't put any energy into worrying about what they write but I would love TFC to prove them wrong for sure by the end of the year. They are even predicting Morrow is playing LW still for MLS week 1. I think that experiment is done dependent on injuries of course. It better be. If he starts there tomorrow night we know nothing was learned from Panama.
So Cinci
Got a mascot
Called him Gary
Why?
Seems it was a reddit joke by a supporter that stuck.

Interesting stat revealed in this tweet about 2018 salaries & TAM/GAM
Every team but Houston paid down the cap hit on at least 3 players with TAM/GAM

The cap amount is a bit of a sham.
A stats based preview of TFC
Most interesting?
a) Vanney tried more formations last year then anybody else (injuries)
b) In 2017, we pressed higher and defended higher - 2018 spent more time defending in the middle and not pressing
Tallied up the attendance numbers of MLS boxscore. Not sure how accurate.
Seattle - 39
Vancouver - 28 k
Orlando - 25.5 k
Galaxy - 26 k
SJ - 18
Columbus - 18 k
Houston - 16.8 k
Philadelphia - 16.5 k
Dallas - 14 k.3 k
COL - 12.5 K
avg = 21.6
Someone who went can answer, but no way it looked like 16,000 in Philly.
Go watch the Dallas highlights, and tell me you think more than 5-6K were there

anyone able to download the TFC schedule to google calendar? Everytime I try to add it, it says sync complete but the calendar doesnt show up
Any news on the Season Ticket Packages? I tried to call my rep and was expecting a call back, but nada!!
Don't forget that a lot of people go to the game, but maybe don't actually go up to their seats for the whole thing. They hang out in lounges of the near the concessions and watch on monitors for parts of it. So it makes sense to me that the actual numbers are higher than what it looks like on TV.
Why do we always receive our Season Tickets at the absolute last minute, the week of the home opener, their should be a better way, no? So it's a scramble if you miss the delivery and have to go pick them up at the Purolator Depot, ffs
Well they have to wait for the schedule because MLS is slow to release but more so they like to include player images in the pack so they probably wanted to make sure no Giovinco/VV on anything and possibly include Pozo too. Also I think the letter from Manning that will be included will be up to date with that Pozo signing and will reference the TAM players that should be coming.
For sure it has nothing to do with postage interruptions because I order a ton of stuff from all over and have zero problems getting things.
Joe Corona to LAG https://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2019/0...der-joe-corona
How does this bypass Allocation order?
Apparently la had his rights from 2 years back...
I’ll take Jesus Corona then

Minnesota - two away wins out of the gate with 6 goals looks to be a competitor this year. Though San Jose and Vancouver might be the weakest teams in the West.
Where are all the “Atlanta model” posters? Pity and Barco are so far no replacement for Almiron. They went as he went.
Atlanta stopped using it's own model the day they picked a manager based on a past job interview process for the EPL.
Not like the manager market gets you a Tata every time you open your wallet. Atlanta had a wonder season last year and still managed to blow the shield... against a terrible TFC side.
When your tap-in merchant no longer scores tap-ins because your expensive South American players of the year aren’t performing in MLS... that’s just MLS. Everyone said we should take the ATL model but it’s just as pointless as any other MLS model, and only works when you have a coach that can attract top-tier talent (not in any way a commentary on Vanney) and even then there’s no guarantee the talent will perform.
ATL having the worst online fan base other than Seattle isn’t helping them either.
