He left because toronto fc management were too mediocre. They don't want to win. Makes sense.

He left for money. If he played his last 3 years in Canada he has to pay tax.
So lets say he gets a 3 year deal at 5/year. thats $15M less 50% tax = $7.5M in Canada
the saudi deal was $11/yr tax free. $33 net in Saudi Arabia
$25M more in his pocket after 3 years.
ps: its in USD so that equals around $33M more in Canadian dollars
if he puts that $33M in bonds paying around 4% he would get over a million CDN dollars a year in interest for the rest of his life by playing these 3 years in Saudi Arabia
Giovinco just scored his first goal for AL Hilal.
for a good cry - here's that goal:

wow!!!
take a look at all the women at the game.
Happy for him. Enjoy the money, enjoy the scoring goals in a league with flimsy defences.
Moving on
Nice goal by Gio. Good luck to him.
Came on in the second half and assisted a goal. He’s got 1 goal 1 assist in 2 games as a sub.
Hasn’t scored in the last 5 games. Was on the bench today and didn’t see any action. Not sure why they would sit him when they are fighting for top spot in the league. Perhaps there is a good reason for it, who knows
