What is Seba's number to stay? I think if management offered 3 x 6m I'd be okay with it. Anything higher I think we have to say goodbye. I'm not sure if that is enough for Seba with 3 x 10 floating around however...
John Molinaro is scheduled to be on Primetime Sports tonight with McCown and Brunt.
I’ve heard Jozy and Gio asked for 8 million a piece. That’s through the gape vine, and not from someone I trust 100 percent. So take that with a grain of salt.
If that’s true, I semi understand why nothing has been determined. But still, if you’re not going to pay them that, tell them what number you are, and if they don’t like it, tell them it will be their last year here unfortunately.
Here’s the audio from the interview:

When is the transfer window closing for both leagues? All of this commotion needs to end.
The other thing lost in all of this today is what will happen to VDW. I cant imagine there is anyone who would pay him.
Good man.
Edit: Transfer window closes in 1 week.
Anything illuminating in the interview?
Mostly rehash. The Saudi transfer window closes Feb 4
Ok here's a bit of a palate cleanser.
And a reminder that we still have a team.

In all my years following TFC I've never wanted a new season to start quite like this one. While entertaining, the armchair football management in this thread is getting long in the tooth. I can't wait to be focused on the footy and not all this background noise.
29 days to BMO
Ugh so this drama may continue until Feb. 4th. Fifteen days later they play their first game, in Panama.
We have all been delivered some core lessons in world football these last couple of years.
Penalties.
Redemption.
Penalties again.
Money wrecks it all.
This is the life we have chosen.
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
I did say a bit concerning, it is actually the MLSE shit show that is entertaining, of course I am concerned, but why should I stress out over something I cannot do anything about, You come across as if you are talking down to me, please don't do that, you are probably a really a cool dude.
I love Gio because he definitely transformed this club. Without any doubt he'll be a legend forever and I'm grateful for everything that he's done for us. At the end of the day though everything must come to an end, and as other teams have shown, you can win this league without Gio on your team. If we can't come to consensus then we'll have to move on. Players come and go. 'Twas ever thus.
Guess I won’t have to lecture people anymore that his nickname isn’t Gio, it’s Seba.
I hope all this 5 year dynasty talk from Manning last year is still somewhat of a goal. I just don't see how with the lack of communication and transfers and losing players.

TFC President Bill Manning on Giovinco on @TSN1050Radio: “We want him with us. We have had talks with his agent & they are not progressing as we would like. We did receive an offer last week that we shut down.” #TFCLiveHe continues: “Sebastian would like us to stay on the same level & make a long commitment to us. Last year we were $9 million dollars higher than any other team and we didn’t make the playoffs.” Adds that was tough for ownership & that they want to get younger. #TFCLiveFYI the sixth and seventh highest earners in the league last year were Villa and Jozy. So 5M per range you can guess from that.Bill Manning confims that the club have made a very lucrative offer to Giovinco: “Our offer to him would still make him one of the top 6 or 7 earners in the league.” It is clear right now that both sides are not close on coming to an agreement.

That is a perfectly good salary for Giovinco. Glad the club has come out and said this to ease ththe speculation that they’re low balling him. This is all on Gio now. Though you can’t blame him for wanting more if Al Hilals offer is legit.
Based on that, I’d wager they’re willing to pay 2-3m for Altidore considering his injury history. Could he get more elsewhere, probably but not too much more I don’t think.
manning sure doesnt sound too reassuring about seba, like he has no clue on what he is going to do.
So basically this is posturing. Seba is not coming down from 7m. From everything Bill says signing Seba is almost antithetical.
