I don't think any off the current DP's are going anywhere barring another major Jozy injury and then he may be moved in the offseason.
Blanco is either a 4th DP slot, funny TAMMY GAM shenanigans, a loan or some new mechanism.
They aren't introducing any new mechanism.
There's a week left in the transfer window, it would have had to be announced prior and if one existed someone would have used it already.
Well they have expiring DP contracts so they could be more creative. If we knew one of our DP's was leaving after the season i could see the player coming in and then taking that slot for next year. They also had a shit ton of allocation from selling players this past offseason.
The cap is going up next year, 7% or whatever the escalator is
Any major cap increase will have to wait until the next CBA as it's bargained with MLSPU.
So ridiculous to me, doesnt need to be sky high but double wouldnt be out of order and i do believe effective to raise talent level

Torino has to create buzz because they just lost their meal ticket.
Journos with connections to agents say one thing.
Journos with connections to TFC management say another.
The thing is i'm sure we kick a ton or tires every year, of those tire kicks a few turn into discussions, of those discussions a couple turn into serious discussions and in the end maybe 1 or 2 actually happen.
Just depends on the journo as to what point they decide to report something it taking place.
Many of the TFC beat reporters were very skeptical of the Gio interest until Molinaro broke the signing, same with bradley as i believe Rollins was the first to report something was going on.
The point that agents and FOs simultaneously work their separate lines of communication to the journos is a good one. Contradictory info can be out there, neither are "right" or "wrong" until the deal is made (or not).
Larson's piece on our search for an attacking mid: http://www.torontosun.com/2016/07/27...r-window-shuts
To summarize, he says we aren't signing Blanco because he can't fit under our cap. We have targets within MLS but we'd probably have to give up a good young player, which the team doesn't want to do, so at this point an international signing is looking more likely. Team is trying to get it done before the August 4th transfer deadline. And this hint is dropped:
Ideas? I'm guessing this would be a TAM-level player. One target, the Sun has learned, is an exciting attacking midfielder who has competed internationally for a European country that’s currently top-30 in the FIFA World Rankings. The player’s current club is struggling financially.
Short Pants scouting leads me to
Nicolae Stanciu
I don't think he'd require a DP transfer.
A player that would be a lot more interesting Valter Birsa. (not top 30)

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Anybody catch Bez on Toteras show? Anything of interest pop up?
Hmmm...FC Chornomorets Odesa, Ukrainian Premier League? Well at least they wont be complaining about our cold winters.

Clint isn't happy in Seattle.
I know it won't happen, but I wouldn't mind moving Jozy and bringing in Clint to play the true #10 role. Don't know if Sounders need a striker though.
Apparently Stanciu has been attracting interest from Southampton, Anderlecht and Lorient, and he has a €5 million price tag on him... seems unlikely we'd be able to land him.
