What's Williams cap hit again?
I liked Williams and wouldn't like to see him go.

I agree with sending assets, but I don't see them doing Pinto's version, that's all.
Also I don't think they're going to deal Williams anywhere. He's a quality, low hit player. He's first off the bench CB for us.

Terms agreed between TFC and Portland for Will Johnson. Deal pending...
I gotta be honest... I'm not overly excited about Johnson. More like a "nice, that's pretty cool."
Now trade Moor, Beitashour, and Johnson to Vancouver for this Laba lad and finally get ourselves a real dm!
He's versatile and still very good, he'll definitely be a good add to our midfield. It's just about the balance. I'm very curious to see what Vanney's plans are... Johnson full-time DM? Or does he start on the right? Do we plant Cheyrou in front of the back four or do we continue playing him alongside Bradley in the middle?
It doesn't seem like we're going after a traditional DM, which is a little worrying... everything else Bez has done so far has been a slam dunk though.
Lots of clubs apparently interested in Will Johnson, so I think it would be a bit of a coup for us to get his signature. He's 28, so we can have him for many years. Great player! My only concern is how we would end up playing him.
Good insight from the Portland side

We have acquired three players for the starting lineup that are among the best in the league in their respective roles. Any contending team in MLS would love to have them. Props to Bez.
I suspect this is a Bradley signing. Not a "TFC need" signing. That's why I'm not super excited.
I don't want to see Cheyrou benched...
bez spending big money again.he takes the easy way out again.no speed at all in the mid, thats my concern.
jus saying...it looks like they dont have any scouting.always spending 300 or 400 k for players.instead of scouting 150 200 k players..they have no speed on the wings.

There might be some competition over starting spots, that's ok. There might be enough depth to get through the dog days in July and August, that's more than ok.
By attempting to play a possession based game speed on the wings is not the most important thing... Positioning and soccer IQ is what is required. If you want speed on the wings we need a target man to whip in the crosses into and Jozy is not player and for obvious reasons Seba is not that option. So really why is speed really needed when there are going to play a version of 4-4-2 diamond with a midfield:
Bradley
Osorio Johnson
Cheryou
The issue is will this provide enough defensive cover or by having already address the defensive line is it enough that is the question. Plus more importantly we need an established goalie who preferably speaks English. IMO it will be easier to communicate with all of the backline and have an easy transition into the league if the GK speaks the same language

Love the moves tho Johnson is not the DM we are looking for. Not sure how they are going to setup to balance the team but adding three quality starters to our core group is great. Props to Bez.
Expecting a GK move soon.
I'd guess we'll see a mix of Cheyrou and Johnson all season. When protecting/defending we could see both on covering the defence in a 4-5-1. We could also see Johnson used on the wing in the attack. Either gets a knock we still have a MLS quality player to start at CDM.
I'd expect both will log 70-80% of our total minutes.
