Wow what a load..Drogba's goal was nice but Seba's was 10X Better.

Balotelli is out. Gazzetta now has Gio as a likely callup

"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff

Seba's goal should have been GOTY, and easily GOTW, but apparently the majority of MLS fans think that a shot with the outside of his right foot from near the right side end line was an attempted pass...
I think the NYRB goal is GOTY worthy as it was a really well worked team effort.
Giovinco officially called up to Italy for Euro qualifiers.
Some quotes from Giovinco on being called up here: http://gazzettaworld.gazzetta.it/azz...-italy-return/

Hopefully he gets a couple minutes in, slots a goal for confidence purposes, comes back to get subbed in during red bulls game, scores two goals vs new york giving us the win, gets a yellow, skips columbus game due to one game suspension a la yellow accumulation, scores 73 goals against Montreal kicking them out and giving us second place while breaking the MLS goals record by about 60 goals.

ay carumba.
bahahahahahahahahaha even if was actually the MVP it would still be ridonculous
None of what he said makes any sense as an argument, which isn't surprising because there is really no logical argument for anyone but Giovinco winning it at this point.
Sorry Kei but you won't win it just because you really really want to.
In the FWIW category this am. - Gazzetta dello Sport quoting Catalan press source Mundo Deportive (I know, super FWIW) Barça with a possible move for Giovinco (well, he is one on a list of potential moves) in January.

This is what happens when a player scores a bag of goals. I don't take these very seriously but if SG puts in another season with this kind of production, would not be surprised if actual serious offers come around then.
Can't see him going to Barca. Would be a terrible move he would just ride the bench.
He seems to like it here. If he can keep his spot on the Italian National team while playing for TFC there is no pressure for him to leave.
Yeah I think we have him at least another year for sure. But if he tears it up even more, there is a small chance a big enough club would come calling. Not at all worried, though.
Giovinco leaving for Barcelona would be the biggest international moving-the-needle event for the league since Beckham's signing. Going from the bench in Europe to MLS and then to arguably the best team in the world? Plenty of European players that still consider MLS a retirement league would sit up and take note. If you're out of favor in Europe you can move to MLS, get paid 3 or 4 times what you're worth, dominate, then leave to a Champions League club.
That being said, I don't think it will happen... but just the fact he's being considered by Barcelona is pretty incredible.
Well, getting linked in press rumors at least. Hard to know who Barça's actual transfer targets are. Your point still stands though, case could be made that Giovinco's international profile has grown not fallen after the move to TFC. That's good for MLS and good for recruiting players like Seba.
Looks like Gazzetta made a big deal out of othing. The mundo deportivo guy was literally picking names out of a hat in case Barca can't get Nolito from Celta in January.
If we in the MLS cup for the next two years, and supporters shield next year, then he can go for a big fee. I will take that tradeoff anyday
