Did not have our best 11, Cheyrou is critical for us and was out. And making the playoffs is not nothing. Once in the playoffs anything can happen and despite the hilarious hatred within this thread, we have a good enough team to do damage in the east in the playoffs. Keyword is the east. SKC is a great team in the western conference team. Disappointing result today, but we did miss two free headers via Altidore and Warner. Question set-up using Warner as a DM in a diamond against the SKC 4-3-3.

The marking on the header looped goal was terrible. Marking all game, all season has been bad.

I'm not impressed with our scouting, to be frank.[/QUOTE]

Very good point - something that is not spoken about enough

Every time a TFC official is asked to describe their scouting staff and set up they invariably talk around the question

A string of questionable signings tell us either Tim B has a poor eye for talent or he is being sold a bill of goods by the international agents

Vanney's not impressed with his defenders and will bench them for further mistakes. Who does he play in their place? His CB reinforcement for this transfer window made mistakes today and so far has been underwhelming. The big CB reinforcement from this offseason makes a mistake that leads to a goal every game. The replacement defenders have made mistakes when on the field that have cost us dearly.

Who is he going to play?

How about the person that keeps brining in shitty defenders and signs Jozy Altidore to a DP contract gets replaced?

Well there was at least one bright spot

Possibly the only time where we were able to get a line breaking pass in.

Just went back and watched the SKC goals on MLS Live.

Not sure about the no call on Giovinco - seen em given.

Definite penalty by Kantari. Guy fell down like a sack of bricks but you can't jump with your hands on the other guys shoulders.

Second goal - on a free kick, their tall striker was uncovered at the top of the box. Yes, lucky header but its a free kick and somebody doesn't follow their striker?!?!?!

Third goal - OK everybody is tired but Jackson was walking back (I thought he had a good game apart from that). BUT, Zaveletta just plain blew that coverage. And Bendik should have stopped that one. Ugly last few minutes goal.

I think we are going to see Hagglund and Perquis next week.

I think we see Perquis and Kantari together one more time before Vanney blows up the backline up.

Just got finished watching the game, really makes you appreciate Cheyrou, we were really missing that link between the D and the forwards. Our team is very different when Gio is getting the ball and not getting the ball (see tonight). Not worried about the team going forward but would like to see Konopka back in goal

Lol at vanney talking about benching defenders hahaha for who ? Who's he going to replace them with ? Hagglund ? Kids from from TFC 2 ? It's time to face facts and see that our defence is garbage, and needs upgrading with actual quality players. Wait until Perquis picks up a straight red in 1 of these upcoming games.

We need a better goalkeeper who'll sort out our defence. Someone who'll scream his ass off to make sure everyone is marked properly, etc.

Doesn't better how well our defenders play because bendik will let them down by giving up soft goals. Since this guy took over we've been giving up way to many goals.

Its astonishing how many players TFC has gone through and yet we still have yet to find one rock solid CB. Good lord.

That 2nd goal header would have been saved by Konopka. He is taller and stays on his line. Kantari's booting it up field is so old school MLS. Lame.

Agree. But in this game, the opposing midfield controlled the ball, making crisp, short passes, rarely giving it away....their third goal was a thing of beauty....demonstrates how average players executing well can beat TFC...disciplined attack....organized defending...carve up our midfield and make our defenders look like school boys.

I was surprised by the light attendance, what's up with that? People making choices when there is two games in a week?

    Rant on...

If we didn't have Giovinco (or if he was on the U.S. national team 65% of games played) we would be well out of a playoff and in traditional TFC territory. Our manager has had 20+ competitive games to organize a defence this season and he has made no visible improvement from the beginning of the season. Contrast him to Carl Robinson who's team is detroying RSL right now & we get a bit of an explanation of what is going on. All three DP's in and people are saying well we were missing Cheyroux ... It's not good enough. You can't do anything in this game without a decent defence.

Are we suppose to be happy with the greatest alltime player in MLS history and a 9-9-4 record?

All the road games to start the season. Plus Giovinco can't score a hat-trick every night. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Today was entirely - ENTIRELY - down to them outnumbering us in midfield. Nothing about quality of play or Bendik or anything else. If people wanted to pin one game on Vanney, this would be the one. They pressed our defenders and played three guys right in front of Altidore and Seba and we couldn't get it to there feet. That's it. That's why we lost. SKC has had 6-7 seasons to build there team and style of play. We'll get there eventually.

let's take a deep breath and move on. If Vanney's team shows at the end of next season that we still can't defend and he doesn't show more willingness to counteract other teams tactics when they quite obviously match up well against us, then we can start talking about the future of the club. for now, we have 8 home game left over our next 12 which will easily get us into a nice playoff position. Let's enjoy the season while it lasts.

RSL rested basically their entire starting 11 for that game....

Look at what Robinson has done with a fraction of the TFC budget. His team has been together 2 seasons at best and are rolling along. Throw in a Gionvinco and they would be invincible.

KC was missing 3 of their top earners. Everyone on the field for them except Bielser and Feilhaber was earning less than Findley.
