I used an elevator at Tim Hortons Field last season. Some were working before January 2015.

This Bob Hunter guy is such a tool.

We already know that BMO field isn't going to be 100% ready on home opener while MLSE will be paying extra $10 million to get BMO field done now.

So I don't know who Hunter is fooling around here.

Yes - a real tool. He only oversaw construction of BC Place and Skydome.

    What would he know, eh??

This is angle is low down in 123.
If u move up to the upper west you can probably still see the skyline for another season ... Probably have no problem going up mid-match because most games won't be soldout with all the extra seats.

Seriously, every post I make you rip into into me.

Stop being such an ass, especially when your the VP of the supporters group.

When I say "all the elevators still weren't working" I mean that ALL the elevators were not in service as of January 2015, not that none of the elevators were working. Yet you take it upon yourself to take a jab at me because you mis understood what I wrote. I'm glad every time I make a post I'll have the VP making a snarky remark.

City officials say dozens of "non-compliant items" remain to be finished or fixed in the stadium, with the more serious problems related to heating, elevators and electrical work.

    http://www.thespec.com/news-story/52...ished-stadium/ Jan 2015

All i said was that it made sense that the elevators would be one of the most difficult things to compplete for the home opener because of all the mechanical work involved. And there is precedent that they take a while to complete as was the case at THF. There is absolutely no need for you to go out of your way and say "im allergic to the truth and taking away from a good story." Its like you take pleasure in putting other people down.

Once again stop being an ass and taking every opportunity to rip into me for "lying". You're the VP of the supporters club and as such shouldn't attack people and put them down the way you do.

There were days when the view was the best thing to look at.

Stadiums with a great view have character. SJE's new stadium has this view of the airport and the hills around, for example. Its one of the things I find most soul destroying about Skydome...I feel like I'm in a mug.

I also happen to be one of those guys that LOVES this city, its people and the interaction of the city with the lake. There was no better place in the whole city to get a handle on how that happened then the West stands. Yeah, I know, no reason to keep a view.

I've sat in the West, the North, various places in the South and 111. Each place has its own feel and interaction with the pitch, the stadium as a whole and the city outside the stadium. Even cruddy architecture like that stadium was (and may still be) provides some interaction.

Its natural when you are up at a second level to, during half time and before the game, look out at the areas where you can see outside the stadium. For those of us in the West, we are going to look now towards the North at the HD board and beyond to all the Liberty Village Condos. With the roof, that's going to be the one way to look out. Fine, cause the roof brings with it a lot of other things worth being at. And, there are worse views (I grew up in Kitchener where the local stadium looked out upon a highway)

But, that view was one of the best in sports.

I'm sure BMO will develop its own character. But I'll miss being able, at half time or before the game, to look out on the harbour over Ontario Place and out to the Lake or towards the core.

    Things change, lives on.

    Hey Friend,

you saying "still weren't working as of Jan 2015" would imply that they never worked.
    This would factually be wrong.
Some Elevators were i service for the Playoff Game vs. MTL.
    and some are working now.
And, as I quoted in a previous email, Gerry Davis, GM of Public Works for the City of Hamilton stated in the article that I linked to, that "some of the elevators" weren't working.

    I'm not going after you.
But I have pointed out that you've been wrong on a number of occasions.

You seem quite interested in my title of Vice President.
I am indeed VP of the greatest supporters group.
    I proudly serve our members.
I've been fortunate to serve our membership for two terms.
I don't think there is much doubt with our Members how much I love this group, and my concern for our membership.
I don't think you're going to win over a lot of people going the route you are by hinting that I'm some sort of rogue VP.

I'd suggest getting your facts straight on things.

    With that said.
If you're at Joe's Pre-game, I'll meet you in person.
Perhaps we'd get along better if we met.

When i said "all elevators werent working in jan 2015" i meant not all of them were working. Simple as that, which wasnt a lie. Why the heck would i lie about someting so non material? I was simply adding to the discussion as to why the elevators would not be completed on time at BMO. Still to this day they are having issues with the freight elevator at THF. Because elevators are often the most difficult to complete.

Please just dont be an ass. Before calling me names and saying im allergic to the truth perhaps ask for clarification on my statement and i can be clearer with my grammar. On forums without face to face communication statements can often be misunderstood.

you said i was allergic to the truth. Poking fun at me. And yes? They never did work. The freight elevator to this day has not worked. Some elevators worked last season. While some never once served passengers and were just finished this winter.

i may have been unclear in my wording but no need to say im allergic to the truth.

Anyways as others have stated. Back on topic. Which was what my original elevator comment was about

Why so defensive? BMO field isn't going to be ready on time and MLSE went over budget on construction.

    So yes, he messed up.

Also, Sky Dome was disaster when it was built as well. So I wouldn't praise Hunter for that either.

So yes, he's tool and can't be taken seriously enough.

Why do you think that? It's amazing how far they've come in the last 2-3 weeks, and they've got 4 more weeks to go. Might be the odd door or something missing, but it looks as though it's going to be ready.

I believe TL already said BMO field wouldn't be 100% ready for home opener today. So some of things will be out of service (like elevator) on May 10.

Bigger issue is that MLSE went over their budget and end up going to pay extra $10 million on construction.

It's going to be even more bizzare when the roof goes on and there is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge gap between said south end and the roof. I Was hoping for a second stand in the south but looks like that wont happen.

I think it's going to be neat how all 3 levels will be different heights, may give a rather unique look to our park.

Presumably in the new east stand. I doubt that will impact very many people. If the seats are all there, the concessions are operating, and you don't have to pee in empty beer cups, then it will be a success.

I really don't mind if the acoustics are in check and the sound is not fizzled out through the big gap.
