Guys, with a win here we can fucking take the Trillium Cup!!

Fwiw, Jackson training today, according to Molinaro.
I hope we win it just so that when they present the cup to Defoe he can flash the 'what the...' look like Winter did that time we won it in Columbus.
big match in a "turning point" of the season, i hope the boys are ready to play good soccer going into the summer and solidify a playoff spot considering we have a few games in hand
Personally, I'm not all that hyped on Hall as a starter in league matches. & Lambe wasn't worth his int spot.
Depth is good but there is a difference between depth at the starter level and depth at the decent enough sub level. Hall is good enough at the spot sub level. But a midfield that consists of him and Bekker is not MLS class.
Osorio, Jackson and Moore all available for selection.
Defoe - Gilberto
Jackson - Oso - Bekker - Rey
Morrow - Henry - Orr - Bloom
I liked the look of Jackson and Rey out wide early in the season.
They gave Nelsen the flexibility to switch their sides whenever they want to use Rey to exploit a weak 1v1 defender, or conversely, use Jackson to help shut down a dangerous attacking wide player.
Henry looked very good against MTL, and I'd give him the start to try and keep that form going, and build his confidence back up after some disastrous games this season.
Orr starts beside him, because I'm not ready to hand both CB spots to a pair of 21 year-olds (Henry & Hagglund).
Also, Moore comes on for either Gilberto or Defoe later in the game.
His scoring touch is spot-on right now. Could see him poaching another late one.
Was Moore carrying an injury ? I see he wasn't on the bench Wednesday
Also as per JM, Warner isn't available tomorrow due to being the best man at his brother's wedding in Denver.
jokester........like I previously said what does it all mean if we blow this game? pick and choose be carefull what you wish for Mr. Nelson . If we play them , they're important . Play the best ; there are slow periods coming up . Not to mention the world cup .

TFC get the win but only because they wanted to.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't TFC have, like, zero interest in the Trillium Cup when it was brought forth by the league while Columbus really jumped on board with it? I seem to recall the Crew organization really get behind the whole thing while TFC's management was quite ambivalent.

@KurtLarSUN: Is this guy scarier than Toledo? Referee Sorin Stoica: 22 MLS games; 10 red cards; 13 pens (The guy in charge of #TFC #Crew96 today)
I spit my coffee when I read this line in the match preview on TFC's website:
I have to agree with Nelsen on this, the Trillium Cup has about the same value as the Amway Cup, whatever that it. FFS.Rivalries aren’t fun when one side is doing all the winning. They aren’t really rivalries when that’s the case. Ryan Nelsen wants this, just as bad as he wants the Voyageurs Cup. He made that clear following the first leg of the Canadian Championship.
“It's a big game Saturday. It's the Trillium Cup and we want to win that just as bad as the Amway Cup,” he said.
Big league game today. I just wish Nelly viewed the Voyageurs Cup as equally worthwhile.
Is he delusional? One gets you into the CCL, while the other gets you some made up cup. Comon man, just say you want the 3 league points more than the V-Cup and call it a day, no need to praise the phony cup
Well isn't that just spectacular.

FWIW
I'm thinking Moore instead of Gilberto.
With Caldwell and Bradley out I wonder who's gonna get the armband. Defoe?

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
