^ Regarding USL Pro - yes that is an issue. I don't know how that will resolve.

    He's 17.

    Living at home.

What's he going to spend his league minimum on? You can only buy so much from the Google Play Store.

His idol is Messi, if he can channel some of that into his play he will have a bright future for sure

Very pleased with the Aparicio promotion. This window going out like a lamb sucks though.

Manu is a great kid and a wonderful footballer. The Aparicios are family friends so I am personally thrilled for Gabriel and Maria. I hope he continues to grow his game and become everything TFC and ultimately the CMNT need.

anyone else think bekker sucks the bag? Osorio seems to be a real nice prospect though, apparently he was one of the main reason we got rid of silva

I think last night showed exactly why Bekker hasn't been getting any game time. Way to lazy. Hopefully last night can act as a wake up call for him.

I think he has a long way to go. I never understood why people freak out on these boards that Hall and Lambe get put out over him. It's obvious why. They are better and that says a lot.

Yes. Bekker was depressing to watch last night. He doesn't head the ball, he doesn't tackle, and doesn't sprint... Argh.

The point where the college players don't match the HG is fast approaching.

Especially in a market that has the potential talent pool of Toronto and the surrounding areas.

I couldn't believe DeVos going off about how he can't understand how Bekker wasn't seeing any first team time, meanwhile he's standing around watching the play go around him.

The draft is phasing itself out, soon to be non-existant.

Exactly... I think Bekker has a ton of skill and potential, but his problem is between the ears.

Last night I saw a very lazy player.

On one occasion he just let a ball roll past him, resulting in a giveaway.
On another he completely backed off on a potential challenge.

Unless he cuts that type of shit out of his game, he'll never be a regular.

i honestly don't see the skill or potential from this kid, maybe just me but i just dont see it. I am not saying to cut him, but wow is he a bad player right now.

osorio and laba are awesome though

The frustrating part is Bekker could and SHOULD be alot better than those two.
He teases with glimpses of it, but then ruins it with lazy play in between.

Don't be fooled, he has more problems than simply effort. This guy is just not comfortable attacking space or players with the ball at his feet. He forces himself to pass the ball even when it's not the right play, Canadian soccer personified.

That's a big issue for someone who wants to play the positions he does at the professional level.

That's because DeVos is a complete moron. Bekker was not enjoyable to watch last night. He was like a seagull in a flock of geese.

Was anybody else impressed with the way Bloom looked in the back? I wasn't expecting anything from him, and he really surprised me. Maybe worked his way into a game day uniform?

I can attest to DV's powers. This can only be bad news.

Agreed. His talents have not transferred well to the pro game. He shouldn't even make the bench at his current level of play.

Not quite there yet. For a big market club like TFC, I think the draft and the academy are about equal. For a small market club like Columbus, the draft is going to be important for a long time to come.

^ I totally agree with the Bekker comments. He does one or two nice things, like his shot on goal, but the rest of the time he completely pisses me off. (Same things happened in other games where I've watched him play.) Yesterday, somebody sends him an imperfect pass, he just stops and watches a Roma player collect it, even though Bekker easily could have got there first. Then he jogs casually along next to a Roma player and watches him take the ball 30 yards toward our goal.

I don't see any hunger of a young guy who should be trying to fight for his spot on the team. I think his attitude is worse than his skill level.
