He IS the man for the job because:

He has turned out some good boys from the Academy.
He brought in a couple of very good DP's
IMO 4-3-3 CAN work in MLS, and you don't need 'stars' to do it. IIRC there is a team in the MLS that is doing it pretty well... oh RIGHT, that team that has gone 6-0 so far...
