“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Good.
TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
Nice! Although why the hell did they leave one end so totally open?! Weird. If someone takes a wayward shot the ball will end up miles outside the stadium, literally. Hah!
We are the Angry Mob, we read the papers every day
We like who we like, we hate who we hate
But we're also easily swayed
Its quite odd that their luxury suites are literally at field level with the stands being above them. Looks kinda cool though.
Anyone else notice they released nana?
i knew he was trialing but didnt know he was released.
I do wonder what happened to that boy
That roof is gonna tear this league apart.

quakes going retro for their season seat holders.
if you pick up seasons seats, youll get a seperate set of tickets and a throwback jersey. cant wait till our organizations (not toronto offshots) we're old enough to see "throw backs", although im disappointed we missed the 80's designs.
What IS it with 3 sided stadiums these days?! So weird!
They are spending $60 million - that's less than BMO cost 6 years ago. That don't get you 4 sides.
Three-sided satdia are a bit strange, but you can't beat the price. It's exciting times in MLS.
¡Vamos Celta!
^^
I think so. It's also a more flexible construction project. Can't argue with economics. In the end, they are getting what they need, a new stadium. That is good for everyone!
¡Vamos Celta!
Aren't a lot of mid sized NCAA football stadiums and big high school football stadiums 3 sided as well? It might just be an American thing
Check it out http://www.collegecharlie.com/stadiums.html
Other than the bowls you can clearly see a lot of the really big stadiums were 3 siders that they expanded (a la Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas A and M, Stanford, Texas Memorial (barely) etc)
A lot 3 sided still (Harvard, South Carolina, Appalachan State)
And a lot more that aren't on this dudes random list of stadiums
NASL team San Antonio has a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow for this impressive stadium.
The final phase seems unrealistic. It would be make much more sense to build a stand behind the second goal area even if they have to move that road back slightly.
