Makes sense though. With the recent defenders we have signed and that Winter has been clear they want another defender brought in someone would have to go.

True. And if on the off chance we ARE close to trading JDG, it's possible we'd be taking in multiple players as well and need to get under the roster size limit (I can't keep track, how close are we to that?)

He was a 70k hit to the cap. A guy like Rosales at Seattles earns that much money this year....so...maybe it's a move to free up another US/CAnadian slot.
