Looks like Danny Koevermans is coming to Toronto on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 to negotiate his contract with TFC's management staff (Aron Winter)

I would be more than happy with this signing.. Some people may have liked a bigger name but I would be just as happy with a guy like this who is apparently looking for a fresh start.. We're due for something good to happen to this team and he COULD be just that... Fingers crossed on this one.
He will probably be at the game on Wednesday then....just hope we don't shit the bed that game.
I'm just looking forward to shouting the name "Danny" (dichio reference) at the pitch again. If he can bring half the heart and style of play dichio brought, but with a few more goals. I'll be happy. Some of my favorite moments are watching Dichio bring down the ball and take his crack at it, or pass it on for someone else.
I know its not MLS Specific but River Plate was relegated, any good players on there squad we could have hopes of getting? I hear there 19 year old Attacking Midfielder Erik Lamela will be unable to stay if they play in 2nd division.
He'd tear up this league!
Lamela is going to Europe. At last check it was Benfica.
Sulley Muntari as our CAM and Danny Koevermans as our central stiker

Still need to fix those CB's, simply not going anywhere with those two in the middle.
Love the idea of signing Muntari and Koevermans.
I'd start Martina over Soolsma and Tchani over Sturgis though.
If we unloaded JDG, Sturgis, Harden, Gargan and Peterson over the next year we'd have plenty of cap for a pair of defenders and a couple mids.
We could actually have an excellent team. Dare to dream.
Are we linked to Muntari? Or is this some fans pipe dream?
pipe dream.
doubt sturgis or peterson are going anywhere.
They just wont be first team when we get better players but back up players
how much is sturgis?
Jesus.
I know Peterson is overpaid for sure at 120k.
Fair enough, i cant argue with the math behind it. Dunno who'd take them tho
Has anybody here seen Danny Koevermans play? One goal in 14 games this past season seems to be a sign of a downward spiral for him...put in a lot more in prior years. Was he injured? Is he done? What is the scoop on him?

NE Release Stolica and Perovic.
Perovic request NE not pick up his contract option due to his recovery from a knee injury, but he'd be a PERFECT pickup for TFC (if his contract goes untouched) for next year.
How bad is his knee injury?

Former Kansas City and Fulham striker Eddie Johnson possibly moving back to MLS

Former Barca and Roma 34 yr old winger Ludovic Giuly apparently has interests from MLS

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Sporting KC trialing 2 players, one of which would be a DP as per Rob Heineman's twitter.
Interesting that a DP signing is actually being put through a trial
Eddie Johnson is a very good MLS player, sadly wouldnt fit into the system probably.
These Colombians the league is bringing in are a fraction of the cost and way better imo. See Hurtado in Sea for example.
The league could improve tenfold imo if they allow more foreign talent and spend money on scouting. Imo, they would be saving money and the cap wouldn't be such a hindrance. They pay these MLS 1.0 players way too much money and they are simply not that good. Unfortunately because of roster restrictions on foreigners and league expansion, these guys are still lingering around as the talent pool here gets thinner. Give each team 11 international roster slots.
