Default Would it not be nice to have Ali Gerba play with D-Ro for the Reds?

Just a passing thought. The two know each other and play well together, he would be a nice signing to complement D-Ro?

He is playing for Milton Keynes Dons, League One, 12 games, 5 goals. I think he would do well in the MLS particullarly if he plays with D-Ro. I would love to see this happen. Hume would also be great but it is far less likely to happen.

it would be nice, but he is scoring a goal every third game in League One. Not happening.

It would be lovely... but he is with MK Dons for now. He also seems to be more interested in playing for Yallop at San Jose if he did come to MLS.

Although right now he's in MKDons plans if they get promoted he may not be. They have 2 or 3 other strikers ahead of him in their depth chart so he's not getting a lot of playing time. Although if they get an injury and he gets some playing time and he lights it up then that also might change things. Lots can happen over the next 6 months.

Im sure he can find another League 1 club...hook-up with Wagenaar at goal-drought Yeovil Town.

Maybe Mo should get off his lazy drunk ass and hire a scout to find players worth more then 100/week!

Cuase he's too expensive for us. What with his multi-million contracts.

Hey, if we had Evertons scouting system, we would be top of the league.

But seriously it is a bit depressing that we cannot attract the likes of Greba to Toronto. He is the calibre of player I would like to see populaitng the MLS, not the top talent but solid professionals players.

^That is certanly a part of it, and why I think it most be changed for the game to truly grow in North American. The DP is nice, but it does not help as much as being able to put 11 quality players, not EPL/Serie A/ La Ligua calibre, but guys who truly know how to play the game, not just run up and down the field like with little purpose.

The issue at stake here is still the fact that the league doesn't quite have the respect yet.

Well, you know what gets you respect? Right, money. That salary cap goes up and suddenly this league is plenty respectable.....

Money doesn't get you respect. Look at my Man Citeh right now. They have boat loads of cash but until they can put that strong foundation together and get up to the top 6 teams they will not have the respect to be able to get in-form talents that desire to play at the club.

But with a salary cap increase we can afford to develop more quality players and bring in more future stars that will in turn give us credibility. Its guys like Altidore, Edu, Dempsey, (hopefully Adu), Guzan, ect that will bring us real credibility. And as we grow from there, we will start being able to retain these guys and be a top league. I can only dream.

^ I agree, but players like Greba shuold be playing in Canada for the game to develop. If we could pay them more would. League One is a good league, and I would imagine that overall team play is better then in the MLS, but we shuold be able to pull/keep that kind of talent in our own league.

I have long thought we should bring in Gerba, but if it was going to happen, it would have happened by now.

Besides which, he'd only sign with Scunthorpe United.
